Learn about grooming, tacking, and basic riding skills in an engaging text combining instruction with narration, and specially photographed scenes that show what to wear to the first lesson, how to braid a horse's tail for competition, and everything in between.
Spreading Equine Infection Catherine Saunders has scribed a beautiful book set to the photographs of David Handley. Whoever did their layout should also be given credit due to it's fine presentation.
What truly shines is the writing, which is clear and concise, written in a form easily understood.
It is an ideal book for a parent to read to a young child, or for a child to learn to read.
So far as the subject matter, it won't tell the experienced horse person what he or she didn't already know. But for those non horsey type parents who are thinking about sending their children to riding school, it may be enough to turn the endeavor into a family affair.
