At last - experience the birth of the Marvel Zombies as told by the creative team of the best-selling limited series, and then witness their rise as they attempt to slake their hunger across two universes! First, Kirkman and Phillips pull out all the stops as they reveal the secret story of the day the Marvel Heroes became brain-eating monsters in Marvel Zombies: Dead Days! Next, follow the Marvel Zombies into the pages of Millar and Land's Ultimate Fantastic Four! When Reed Richards uses his scientific genius to contact an Earth in a surprisingly familiar parallel dimension, nothing could have prepared him for the world he's about to enter! And when the zombiefied FF escape from their Baxter Building prison in the wake of Dr. Doom's return, get ready for the deadly debut of the Frightful Four! Finally, in Hudlin and Portela's Black Panther, the mainstream Marvel Universe's New Fantastic Four just made a wrong turn on the dimensional super highway, and they've landed in the middle of Zombie-verse! Collects Marvel Zombies: Dead Days, Ultimate Fantastic Four #21-23 and #30-32, and Black Panther #28-30.

5 out of 5 starsZomberific
I've been a big fan of Marvel comics and I was very excitied when I first read Marvel Zombies. I thought it was pretty clever and I enjoyed the style of art that it contained. But Marvel Zombies Dead Days is way better, both in story and art.

Dead Days is divided into four sections. The first section is "Dead Days" in which we are shown how the infection is spread about this Marvel universe. Although I thought it was a little too short, I very much enjoyed seeing my favorite heros in a new light, and a new take on zombies which I found very interesting.

The next two sections are from the Ultimate Fantastic Four story arcs where we are introduced to the Frightful Four. In the first part of the arc, the Fantastic Reed is deceived by his counterpart who is both stronger and wiser than he is, so you get to see Reed experience this zombie verse and has to escape back to his world with Magneto, while the rest of the Fantastic Four must fend off the Frightful Four. This also gave me a better insight into the zombie world you are introduced to in the first Marvel Zombies, which I thought was nice. The second part is all about the Frightful Four, who the Fantastic Four was somehow able to deafet them, and the Four's arch nemesis, Victor Von Doom. The Fantastic Four must seek his help as Johny has only 28 days to live and to make things worse, the Frightful Four have already decided their escape plan! It's this Fantastic Four arc that has made me a fan of the Fantastic Four, I just loved the art work and the new twists on the characters personality, especially Doom's.

The last part is from Francis Portela's Black Panther, which wasn't my favorite. In this arc the Black Panther, Storm (his wife-didn't see that coming!), Johny, and Ben are stuck on a Skrull planet from the zombie verse, and the Galactic zombies from the end of the first Marvel Zombies are on their way for a little snack. I wasn't to fond of the artwork but I did enjoy the personality of The zombies, especialy when Iron Man and Luke Cage get into a fight (with Cage smacking Iron Man about 100 yards, lol). The new Fantastic Four has to ally with the skrulls in order to defeat the Galactus zombies, though they have already have wiped out half the universe!

I strongly advise this if you are a fan of the Marvel Zombies or the Fantastic Four and it's a good deal since all these are in just one book, (and then you can get the Ultimate Fantastic Volumes as well-but I'm getting ahead of myself, one book at a time).

3 out of 5 starsCollection with already collected stories, plus the Dead Days one-shot
The original Marvel Zombies proved to be a surprising smash hit that was instantly enjoyable; mainly thanks to the tongue-in-cheek take by writer and Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. Naturally, sequels, spin-offs, and prequels would come to follow, which is the main point of this hardcover collection. Marvel Zombies: Dead Days includes the Dead Days one-shot, which details the beginning of the zombie outbreak in the Marvel universe. We bear witness to Spidey chowing down on Aunt May and Mary Jane, Nick Fury launching a strike, and learning how Black Panther came under the capture of Hank Pym among other things, and it concludes with possibly the most surprising and shocking turn one could imagine. While the Dead Days one-shot is worth checking out this hardcover for alone, also featured here is the storyarc from Ultimate Fantastic Four by Mark Millar in which the Marvel Zombies are introduced. What makes these issues better is that there is art from the great Greg Land, and Millar's run on the series was instantly enjoyable. Also featured here is a storyarc from Reginald Hudlin's disappointing run on Black Panther; in which the new Fantastic Four of T'Challa, Storm, Human Torch, and Thing run afoul of the Marvel Zombies. While this isn't a bad pick up one bit, if you already own either or both of the Ultimate FF and Black Panther stories, you'd be better off looking for the Dead Days one-shot on its own and saving some cash. However, if you missed out on everything featured here, then this hardcover is definitely worth a look at the very least, especially for the Dead Days one-shot alone.
