Product Description:
What? You didn't actually think that a load of buckshot to the chest in shark-infested waters was gonna put him down for good, did you? The Punisher's wildest foe is back...give or take a few boy parts - this time he's embarking on a solo mission: playing bodyguard to the son of a dangerous mob boss. Should be a breeze for a guy who went toe-to-toe with Frank Castle and lived to tell about it, right? Guess again. Junior is a hemophiliac - and every crime syndicate in the country can't wait to take a shot at him as payback to his dad. To survive, Barracuda will have to navigate hitmen, corrupt cops, black ops, a Central American strongman and rescue a damsel in distress. No kidding. Collects Punisher Presents: Barracuda MAX #1-5.

4 out of 5 starsKnowumsayin?
Punisher MAX is an excellent series, and Barracuda is the best character to come out of it. Good artwork and great, funny story.

4 out of 5 starsFunny and enjoyable side story
You didn't really think that a shotgun blast to the chest in shark infested waters would kill Barracuda did you? After being left for dead by the Punisher, the one-man wrecking crew known as Barracuda is piecing together a plot to get revenge, but to do it he's going to need a little bank first. That's the basis for this side story, which finds Barracuda taking the hemophiliac son of a crime boss (that looks quite reminiscent of Christopher Walken) under his wing to teach him how to be a man, but it isn't before long that the true, double dealing intentions of the many parties involved are revealed, and as the body count rises and the bullets fly, there's just one guy left standing in the middle with a colorful smile on his face. Punisher Presents: Barracuda is a darkly funny and highly enjoyable blast that shows writer Garth Ennis at his near best. One of the things that made Ennis such a legendary comic scribe to begin with was how he weaves incredibly dark humor into his stories, which is something that he has done few and far between since the MAX launch of the regular Punisher title. The only real downside to Barracuda is that the character isn't one of Ennis' better creations, but you'll find yourself laughing plenty throughout the read. The art of Goran Parlov (who also did the art for the original Punisher/Barracuda storyline) is a bit too cartoony at spots and an acquired taste as well, but overall Barracuda is a winner. All in all, if you're a frequent Punisher reader, you'll definitely get a kick out of this side story.
