5 out of 5 starsEnemy of the State indeed.
A really cool comic, about a real nasty piece of work. Any fan of Wolverine knows just how dangerous he actually is. This reads almost like a What if story line: Wolverine gets captured and Brainwashed by the new super villian 'Gorgon'. Wolverine goes bad, all his moral restraints have been switched off. For a guy that cannot read minds, fly, turn invisible etc, he deals a ton of damage and a whole world of pain. Going head to head with SHIELD, the Fantastic Four and the X-men, it takes a combined effort to stand up to him and his elusive 'hit and run' style tactics forged in his black op days. The final question at the end is, can they get him back?

5 out of 5 starsGreat, fun, action-packed comic book
This book was a gas, one of the most fun superhero stories I've read in a while. This volume collects the first half of a Wolverine vs. Hydra story arc (Wolverine issues #20-25) in which Wolvie is kidnapped and brainwashed by a consortium of bad guys, and sent out to do their evil bidding. He dukes it out with many of the Marvel Universe heavyweights (Elektra, Daredevil, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men and others) and though it may be disappointing for Wolverine fans that he keeps getting clocked by his opponents, this is still one of the most satisfying, action-packed super-stories I've read in a long, long time. Nice, no nonsense script by Mark Millar (with no big mutant-related "issues", for once -- thank goodness!) just a slam-bang slugfest accompanied by a silly world-domination plot worthy of the Austin Powers franchise. Great art by Romita, as well! Now, on to Part Two! (ReadThatAgain)

4 out of 5 starswolverine runamuck here
the hand, hydra, wolvie going crazy fighting the fantaSTIC 4, X MEN, DAREDEVIL, elektra was a good rerad love the satan references in here another plus was northstar getting killed but in marvel tradition death never works in thwe x men at least baron strucker will stay dead rest in peace to him wolvie's face off with rachel classic once again wolvie saiud he was'nt scared of dying he was in 2 world wars after all.

4 out of 5 starsGreat action, cool story
If you like Wolverine you'll probably like this trade. It's a dark look at what the Marvel Universe would look like with Wolverine under the control of the bad guys.

I read the whole thing in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. There are some great twists and turns and I'm really lookig forward to Vol 2.

Not a comic that will change your life but if you enjoy good action with some nice art and an interesting premise then you'll probably like this..

5 out of 5 starsgreat, even for a newbie
it had been a while since i had been into comics...my last go round was in middle school and i bought every issue #1 hoping to retire off my earnings in a few short years...oh well. anyway, the new X-Men movies stoked my appetite for Wolverine. being relatively new to the entire X-Men series, i didnt know where to start without being lost in ongoing story arcs and whatnot. upon reading this, I still dont know the history of HYDRA and the HAND, but i can say i thouroughly enjoyed every page. this is the kind of art i've been looking for in wolverine! the story was great and makes me want to go back and find out more. if you're looking for a good starter for Wolverine, i'd recommend this title as well as the next volume.
