Product Description: Even by vampire standards, Reaper is a loner, and his current mission to destroy a gang of rogue bloodsuckers is definitely a one-vamp job. Then fate takes a hand, and before he knows it, he's surrounded by a ragtag crew of misfit helpers: the newbie, the princess, the shape-shifter and the human healer.
Seth is new to immortality, but he's sharp and strong—and he'll risk anything for the rogues' strange female captive, a secretive creature he doesn't understand but feels compelled to save.
Vixen is confused by the emotions that swirl through her at the sight of her impulsive hero. She only hopes the brutal Gregor and his bloodthirsty renegades will leave her alive long enough to explore them.
Or will Reaper himself be the one to destroy them all?
Why only a 3 Star? I was soooo suprised at this book. I have been very disapointed lately when I have ventured out of my "favorite authors circle". I am so glad I did and the only reason this book gets a 3 Star from me is because the next book in the series is a complete let down. I wondered the whole time if it was even written by the same person. I really hate when authors gives us all they've got the first go around and leave us with a dust collector the next.
Dark and sexy! Reaper's character caught my attention right away in this book! Talk about tall, dark and handsome! Wow! This book was really great.
Complex characters and storyline... I love stories like this many characters and complex relationships. While Ms. Shayne did focus on Seth and Vixen's relationship she gave us sneak peeks at Topaz and Jack's and Briar and Reaper's and also left us wanting to find out what will happen to Roxy, Ilyana and even the villian Gregor.
My favorite part was when Seth discovered the truth about Vixen and reacted in an honest way (He was replussed by it.) to it before knowing that it really did not matter compared to his true feelings for her. I love Vixen! She has such an interesting story, part fox, formerly part human now vampire. how she is more in tune with her animal side and needs to learn to be in tune with her vampire side.
One thing kept me from giving it 5 stars, and that is Seth's past, we learned much about Vixen ,Reaper, Jack, Topaz, Briar and even Gregor. We learned little about Seth. I didn't feel we learned a lot about him. Sure he was very heroic and caring character, but what and why was he like that?
It left me craving for more! I just finished Demon's Kiss (audiobook version). I didn't want it to end and I'm craving for more.
... I tried to read this book three times. I couldn't finish it. It was slow and tedious, with nothing interesting going on and with chracters with little development. The interaction between them felt dull or forced. I'm sorry, but this book wasn't really for me.
