Product Description: Fourteen-year-old Maximum Ride knows what it's like to soar above the world. She and all the members of her "flock" - Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman, and Angel - are just like ordinary kids, except they have wings and can fly! It may seem like a dream come true to some, but for the flock it's more like a living nightmare. When the mysterious lab known as the "School" turns up and kidnaps their youngest member, it's up to Max to organize a rescue, but will help come in time?
An Interesting Take on Bad Books ^ Although slightly confusing if you aren't familiar the series, the plot itself works much better as a manga than a book. While I feel ashamed to have ever acknowledged the books' existence, the manga is interesting and has a unique style of art that's always fun to analyze.
The story feels more solid as a manga and less rushed as it did in the book; after all, manga are different from books and often are much faster paced.
The characters are much more interesting and less overdone and the entire volume just feels more satisfying than any of the books, ever. Kudos to Narae Lee.
Beautifully done ^ I love the art work and I liked the story line. Of course I had already bought the non-manga version and enjoyed it.
Another in the max series. ^ Max is at it again. The bird kids get into and out of constant trouble. Not sure how they survive. Book keeps you interested in the characters and the story. Well worth you time and money.
For my granddaughter ^ I purchased this item for my granddaughter. She is thirteen and she liked the book very well.
I'm new to manga. Loved it. ^ Well, this is the first Manga book I ever read, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. I like it. it was a fun story and the pictures made it come alive. I was disappointed when I got to the end and it wasn't the end. But I should have expected that, I guess, since it was labeled "Vol. 1." I picked it up at B&N on a gift card to go with my frappacino.
