Excellent Resource This work provides a qualitative approach to naval architecture, and is best coupled with "Introduction to Naval Architecture" (Gillmer and Johnson, Naval Institute Press). All information is well-presented, detailed, and organized. Although a mathematical interpretation of naval architecture is lacking within this resource, such information is adequately replaced by vivid description and the unique viewpoint of E.C. Tupper. This work is highly recommended for those individuals seeking a basic, non-mathematic approach to ship design; otherwise, the purchase of the Gillmer and Johnson reference is also necessary.
