Product Description: Tales of heroics, wrecks and rescues are all captured in this unique collection of epic tales that will have fans of the show and readers alike setting sail for adventures on the frigid Bering Sea.
For Deadliest Catch fans only DEADLIEST CATCH: DESPERATE HOURS is a book for fans of the Discovery TV show only. It gives thumbnail biographies of the captains involved in the TV show, and some of their stories of the wilder end of life on the Bering Sea. It has no central thread, nor any particular depth. but any fan of the TV show will find interesting nuggets of information. I had hoped for an account of filming aboard one or more of the boats; the camera crews face the same hazards as the fishermen they film. And, there is a little of that, just not as much as I had hoped. I enjoyed the book. I'm not sorry I bought it. But, I had hoped for more.
Great adventure stories by the Captains of Bering Sea.......... GREAT book, fast read, couldn't put it down, laughed, cried, held my breath at times, it is like sitting with them "After the Catch". Phil Harris's dental work was much too painful for me! After living on Kodiak Island for almost a dozen years, 3 tours of Coast Guard aviation duty with my husband, now retired, this book was like being there again. We are faithful Deadliest Catch viewers.
Loved it!!!!!!!!!! As I have been watching this tv show, since before it was called Deadliest Catch, and have all 3 seasons on DVD, I had to purchase this book. I also bought the Time Bandit Book and read them both in approx. 4 days. This is a very interesting book. It is really very good. It does let the Capts. speak on various subjects. For anyone who not just loves the excitement of the show, this book gives information about the Capts. and their crews.
Good and interesting stories from the crab fishermen. This is filled with great stories from the crab fishermen and boat captains of Deadliest Catch. There is a little bit of everything here, told by the guys themselves, and in their own styles: some stories are sad, some are funny, some of them keep you right on the edge of your seat, and all of them are interesting. Whether you are familiar with Deadliest Catch or not, this is a great book about crab fishing told from the viewpoints of the fishermen and captains.
Just like sitting at the bar listening to them tell their stories This book is a great insight into the hearts and minds of amazing men. Even if you have never watched the show, you get a feel for them all.
