4 out of 5 starsReading and dinosaurs, Oh my.
My 8 year old loves reading these books to me. I used to read them to him and now he is reading them to me. In this one the bus goes back in time and the kids learn about dinosaurs. It goes through the Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous and Cenozoic time periods along with some information about the animals found in each time period. The books are written on a 3rd grade reading level and recommended for ages 6-9.

3 out of 5 starsCluttered, not enjoyable
I really wanted to like this book. My son loves dinosaurs, and his reading level fits nicely with the Magic School Bus series. But neither he nor I found this book to be fun reading. The story itself is not that great and you basically have to keep reading things on the side bars that are semi-interesting but disruptive to any flow of the story. I suppose some kids and parents like this style that appears in all the Magic School Bus series. My son and I may be in the minority - but we did not find it that fun. Both of us were happy to be through with the book - it was not particularly riveting - just something to read... and a bit helter-skelter at that. Personally I think that kids at this reading level (1st-2nd grade) enjoy fiction, or an easy to read non-fiction book. This attempt at combining both was just not that enjoyable - at least for us. The Magic Treehouse series (while not my favorite) is more enjoyable reading that his - because the story line is better. IMHO

5 out of 5 starsMy 3 year old loves it
When we first received the book, my husband said - this is way too advanced for our son - too much text. But maybe because he finds dinosaurs fascinating, he's been engrossed by it. All these new facts about dinosaurs have him very interested. He doesn't get some of it, but he's grow into it I am sure!

5 out of 5 starsA big favorite of our dino-fan
Great just like all the Magic school bus series, lots of information and a fun story.

5 out of 5 starsLove the series!
We love this book, and the entire Magic School Bus series. Well-written and informative.
