Great book Callister's book gives a very concise introduction to material science, with many examples. The book was well organized, the subject matter was presented in a way that made it very easy to use for learning the material as well as use it as a quick reference. Sufficient diagrams and example calculations were provided in the book, making it an effective learning tool. I bought this book sophomore year in 2003 and kept it as a good reference book. Highly recommended book!
