Product Description: A newborn bird's identity crisis takes him on a quest to find his real mother.
Amazon.com Review: This is the classic from which many of our staff first learned to read, starting us on a path of unremitting bibliophilia. Are You My Mother? follows a confused baby bird who's been denied the experience of imprinting as he asks cows, planes, and steam shovels the Big Question. In the end he is happily reunited with his maternal parent in a glorious moment of recognition.
Used book - get what you pay for ^ I purchased this book used for a baby shower gift. The theme was books instead of cards and bring your favorite baby book. It was well recieved in general and a good book for a baby to grow up with and destroy, as babies do to their books.
The book was writen in and somewhat tattered/not mentioned in the description. The book was decribed as being in good condition.
The shipping took three weeks. Somewhat longer than I expected, however I did recieve it in time.
All in all...a good product for the great cost!
Pretty good ^ Book in pretty good shape. Had a strange brown spot on the first page.
Justin's review ^ If you like dog books you should read Are You My Mother? If you can read D books you should read Are You My Mother? It is about a bird that wants to find its mother. He looks all over the place.
so small ^ Fantastic book, loved it as a kid, love sharing it with my bonus kids now. but it was so much smaller than I expected.
Are You My Mother? better for moms than children ^ One of the many wonderful books in the "Cat in the Hat" Beginner Book series. The story arch is simple and clear, a baby bird loses his mother right before hatching and sets up to find her. While his mother is out searching for the baby's first meal the bird finds many unsuitable candidates (cats, cows, construction vehicles) to ask "Are you my mother?". The illustrations are simple and sweet. While not the best of the Seuss imprinted books (the better ones being many of the ones written by Theodore Geisel - Dr. Seuss - himself) One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish (I Can Read It All by Myself)Green Eggs and Ham (I Can Read It All by Myself Beginner Books) - it is still a great book for moms to enjoy with kids at reading time. My husband gave me this book for mother's day with my child's paint filled handprints in the front cover. That is the perfect use for this book.
