Nothing will break this mother-daughter bond. Not even the truth.
Deborah Monroe and her daughter, Grace, are driving home from a party when their car hits a man running in the dark. Grace was at the wheel, but Deborah sends her home before the police arrive, determined to shoulder the blame for the accident. Her decision then turns into a deception that takes on a life of its own and threatens the special bond between mother and daughter.
The Secret Between Us is an unforgettable story about making bad choices for the right reasons and the terrible consequences of a lie gone wrong. Once again, Barbara Delinksy has delivered a riveting study of family and a superbly crafted novel, perfectly targeted to reading groups and fans of provocative fiction.
The Secret Between Us This is a very well written book and caught my interest from the first page. Any book by Barbara Delinsky is a good buy. I ordered my book from Amazon.com. I always receive my orders in a timely manner. They let you know when your merchandize is sent and about what time you should receive it.
the secret between us another great book from barbara delinsky. I read everything she writes. way to go.
Looking for Barbara My first Barbara Delinsky book was Lake News and I loved it. Since then I have read all of Ms. Delinsky's current "womans fiction" titles. My favorites being The Passions of Chelsea Kane and Commitments.
But her current book The Secret Between Us and her last Family Tree left me feeling unsatisfied and wanting more. I think what is missing are the strong romantic relationships that she used to create for her main characters. Saying this I must say that I am not a "hard core" romance reader. B. D. made romance part of the story but not the main focus.
The Secret Between Us was a bit slow and tedious. I found myself fustrated with the characters and disappointed by the contrived ending. Especially weird for me was the PO box in another state???
I'm looking for the return of the type of Barbara Delinsky books that I have come to love and I hope she goes back to creating characters that make me hate to come to the end of the book.
Humdrum ho hum I listened to this book on CD and there were times when I wanted to give up on it entirely. The leading character was a doormat for everyone and her Father, Michael, was the absolute worst. I found this book very frustrating and at times I just wanted to scream. But I kept thinking this is Barbara Delinsky surely it's going to get better. Wrong! You may read it and love it but based on some of the other reviews I don't think I'm alone with my disappointment.
predictable and unbelievable This was my first time reading Barbara Delinsky and I was very disappointed. I guessed the ending within the first 50 pages and found her characters weak and unbelievable. Way too sappy for my tastes.
