Product Description: In the New York Times bestseller Darth Bane: Path of Destruction, Drew Karpyshyn painted a gripping portrait of a young man’s journey from innocence to evil. That man was Darth Bane, a twisted genius whose iron will, fierce ambition, and strength in the dark side of the Force made him a natural leader among the Sith–until his radical embrace of an all-but-forgotten wisdom drove him to destroy his own order . . . and create it anew from the ashes. As the last surviving Sith, Darth Bane promulgated a harsh new directive: the Rule of Two.
Two there should be; no more, no less. One to embody the power, the other to crave it.
Now Darth Bane is ready to put his policy into action, and he thinks he has found the key element that will make his triumph complete: a student to train in the ways of the dark side. Though she is young, Zannah possesses an instinctive link to the dark side that rivals his own. With his guidance, she will become essential in his quest to destroy the Jedi and dominate the galaxy.
But there is one who is determined to stop Darth Bane: Johun Othone, Padawan to Jedi Master Lord Hoth, who died at Bane’s hands in the last great Sith War. Though the rest of the Jedi scoff at him, Joshua’s belief that there are surviving Sith on the loose is unshakeable.
As Johun continues his dogged pursuit of the man who killed his master, Zannah, faced unexpectedly with a figure from her past, begins to question her embrace of the dark side. And Darth Bane is led by Force-induced visions to a moon where he will acquire astonishing new knowledge and power–power that will alter him in ways he could never have imagined. . . .
Loved It Cover2Cover! We need more Darth Bane stories! Not as good as the first Bane book (Path Of Destruction)but still a very enjoyable read. More Old Republic books!
If you like the Dark Side of the Force For myself this series scores big because it is about the "Dark Side" and the fact that their really isn't much written during this time period and you get to know "what went on".
I don't like reading reviews that tell bits of the book before I buy because I find it like knowing about a movie and then going to see that movie.
I can't wait for the next book and hopefully we get more stories in this era.
Kriffing Awsome Even more satisfied with this book then its predecessor (Darth Bane: Path to Destruction). I HIGHLY reccommend it to any star wars fan, or those who enjoyed the KoToR games, as there is mention, and the writer worked with Bioware in Writing the games storyline as well.
Great but short! Darth Bane is an awesome sleeper series in the star wars universe. Highly recommended with excellent character development and surprising depth. Unlike many of the other books in the star wars series, this one really forced you to think about morality and ethics in fresh ways. It's rare that a sci-fi book really challenges you but this one does.
The worst thing about this book is its length. It's a rush to read but then it's over and you want more. I really wish it was an extra 200 or 300 pages! I hope the author makes the third in the series (if there is one) considerabily longer.
Fun book to read... I never thought the Sith could be so much fun! I thought the first Darth Bane book was great but I think this one blowed it away. The book takes you in the future ten years after Bane has picked up Zannah as his apprentace. The book has a great plot and a wicked ending that I wasn't expecting with great action and great characters, great development of the characters etc.
These books have been by far the best Star Wars books I've read since Matthew Stover's Return of the Sith. I can't wait to read more from Drew Karpyshyn..... he's a great author and has done a wonderful job with these two books.
I can't wait for the next one to come out. At least I'm assuming that there will be a next one??????????
