The nub and gist is that I have accidentally acquired two Luuurve Gods.
Oh my giddy god! Georgia has somehow landed back in the cakeshop of agony now that Robbie the Sex God has returned and she has three potential snoggees. What's a proper girl to do? Hide, of course, and hope that she will be able to choose one before she ends up all aloney on her owney.
Georgia, Georgia, Georgia! The eighth installment of the Georgia Nicholson stories, Love Is A Many Trousered Thing is, as one might expect from the series, quite funny, in that Brit-slangy kinda way. And I DO enjoy Georgia's views of her friends and their fringe, her exasperation with her hopelessly uncool parents, and her forays into the Cake Shop of Looooove.
Still, not much happens in this one, as far as moving the story forward. Lots of internal debate and dialogue, and Dave the Laugh suddenly popping up in Georgia's thoughts unexpectedly, but nothing much happens.
Still enjoyable, though.
You don't have to be a teenage girl to die laughing... I found these books a few years ago when I was teaching 8th grade. One of my students was reading Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging and I nearly took it away, afraid it was inappropriate. I am now totally sucked in and think I probably enjoy these books more than my students. Just finished Love is a Many Trousered Thing and I have to say that I can't wait to read more. I hope Louise keeps writing forever, because not only are they hilarious, they are just fab, gut fun.
HILARIOUS! This book is possibly even greater than all the other Confessions of Georgia Nicholson! It continues Georgia's love triangle and even adds another point. Time for another trip into the bakery of luuurve...
Hilarious I have loved the Georgia books since I was a younger teenager. Now that I am not, I still laugh violently because I never know what I am about to read each paragraph, and thus I cannot read them in public, or people think I am crazy. Louise Rennison never dissapoints, but my only qualm is that as the series goes on, the books do get bigger, however the time frame they cover gets sorter and this book covers only a couple of weeks. Still, I can't WAIT for the next one.

The one and only, the fabbity of the fab Georgia Nicolson is back, this time with problems that she thought she had already solved. We all thought that Georgia's heartbreaker days were over but, unfortunately, they just keep on coming. Now, too many of the boys from her past are looking irresistible and sending those mixed messages that could be about love (or at least that's what Georgia thinks).
After having to be the only one in the ace gang without a significant other, Georgia finally got what she wanted -- Massimo finally confessed his love to her. Sure, that's just great, but now her first love, the Sex God, is making his way back into her life, and she just doesn't know what to do (aside from getting the best out of the problem).
If only she could go to someone to talk to, like Dave the Laugh, except that would only add more to her troubles and then make it three against one.
Aside from her boy troubles, though, Georgia's life is still the same, what with her annoying Mutti and Vati always bugging her and Libby, who is beginning to be even more of a pest, just like Angus, and friends who don't seem to understand anything AT ALL! What's a girl to do? Let life take its course, instead of fate, and eat some fab cake on the way!
Funnier then ever, LOVE IS A MANY TROUSERED THING is just another hilarious novel in the Georgia Nicolson series. After reading this, I just wonder, how much more trouble can Georgia get into? Fans of the series will want to read this installment right after licking their lips at the cupcakes on the cover.
