Occasionally incredible things happen in comedy. Monty Python is one of these events. At first the humor is in the wonderful parodying of situations that we tend to take for granted, or of situations we know to be undesirable, but (like the weather) have become a British way of life. However, as the series progress, the humor also develops and evolves, with parodies of parodies and references to references... more

| | 3. That '70s Show - Season One |
| Starring: Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson Directed By: David Trainer, Terry Hughes October 26, 2004
Like the characters in this show, I too was a teen during the 70s. The producers really nailed the whole zeitgeist, of being a suburban teenager in the 70s. The 70s fashions, cars, home furnishings, foods, and fads, are all very authentic in this show.
The show boasts a very talented ensemble cast, who all mesh together very well on camera. I really like the unique, psychedelic-style film... more

They marry quickly and problems arise as people discover that she is psychic, leading to all kinds of comical mix-ups. | | 6. The Complete Ripping Yarns |
| Starring: Michael Palin, Charles McKeown, David Griffin, Michael Stainton, Peter Graham Directed By: Terry Hughes August 30, 2005
As a lifelong fan of Monty Python, I was very excited to discover this series - and very surprised that it isn't more widely known. Perhaps this is because a lot of the humour of Ripping Yarns is aimed at people who grew up in England at a particular time, and are familiar with the literature that the series is based on - yet plenty of the humour (as with Monty Python) is universal & timeless... more

| | 7. Monty Python Live |
| Starring: John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Graham Chapman, Terry Jones Directed By: Ian MacNaughton, Terry Hughes October 23, 2001
I thought I had a great bargain for this 2 dvd set. I was way too wrong on thinking that I would get a good crisp dvd quality picture for it though! LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL has the same cheap quality than the old VHS version, LIVE IN ASPEN ain't really a "live" show but rather a "live" interview with the whole lot (even Chapman is there in all his exquisite ash form!). The second... more

| Starring: Bernadette Peters, Joanna Gleason, Chip Zien, Mandy Patinkin, Tom Aldredge Directed By: James Lapine, Kirk Browning, Lonny Price, Michael Houldey, Terry Hughes September 23, 2003
I was just so thrilled to see that this item was offered, and at such a bargain price! I'm sure I would have gladly paid hundreds of dollars for this collection. However, never having had the chance to see "Follies" live, I found that the "Follies in Concert" DVD was unsatisfying on certain levels; I would have preferred to see all the concert footage - to better understand the show - and fewer... more
