Though I have not bought this movie set, I have had the chance to watch it on TV... and it's the best show that I have ever seen...from the action, adventure, mystery and the love tirangle... the journey with Hitomi, Van, Allen, and all of their friends is one that eveyone should have the chance to watch if they love a mixuture of genres... I don't see what the big deal about the subs are,sure it's flat and the recording was kinda awefull and there is virtualy no chemistry between the characters ..but the animation is great and it's unedited and with all the orignal footage from do you remember love,aside from the animation in the credits,it's still worthwhile because it is in english and full screen.

One of the things I will probably mention in several of my reviews of this series is that it is really a 'series,' not just a string of episodes with a dramatic ending. Themes and characters are developed over time, story arcs weave together, and each episode builds on the previous. The series of Escaflowne just keeps getting better as the videos move on. You have all of anime's best elements in one series...magic girl, giant robots, love triangles, evil bad guys...its everything a person could want and more. I really suggest getting into this series, the twist and turns in the story line are unexpected and always enjoyable but I can't tell you what they are...that'd be spoiling... more

I loved the Escaflowne series up to here, but on this tape, it got a little boring and drawn out. The sixth tape is the best by far -- it's the climax of the series. As the series concludes, the story becomes disjointed and cryptic. I didn't enjoy this last tape, but it's still an essential part of one the greatest anime series of all time... more
