overall not a bad movie - zombie still knows how to make a scary movie and generally it flowed well from the first movie. unfortunately the first was just too damn good, and hence the sequel lacked a bit of storyline and mostly suffered from zombie including his wife as a key character. dont get me wrong, she played the part well, but the whole thing just felt out of place.

I am quite a fan of Rob Zombie. But, his first film HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES was a God-Awful mess. Then, THE DEVIL'S REJECTS was fun and entertaining and a huge improvement over HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES. And now, HALLOWEEN was a MASSIVE improvement over all of them! This may be the best remake I've ever seen. Zombie keeps it accurate to the original, but still adds his fun little twist to it. Rob Zombie has proved himself to be a great director with the Firefly Family series. He already proved himself as a musician but these movies are the real reason why I respect him. This movie has a unique set of characters, great plot, and plenty of action. This movie is truly grotesque and even feels like a Horror Western. I still dont understand the new gen of horror fans applauding such a complete and utter waste of film as this. There is NOTHING redeemable in this film. Zero reward. Zombie should stick to making his music. No matter how big a fan of the genre, he is NO movie maker. And certainly no HORROR movie maker. I've read that he truly believes that this is his "gift to the genre". Delusional as are the fans... more
