| | 2. Star Wars - Episode I, The Phantom Menace (Widescreen Edition) |
| Starring: Ewan McGregor, Liam Neeson, Natalie Portman, Jake Lloyd, Ian McDiarmid Directed By: George Lucas March 22, 2005
I like this movie. Am I objective? Of course not! I was 8 yrs old in '77 when that first Star Destroyer lumbered overhead and changed my life. The rest is history. I will say this though - as huge a fan as I was I didn't find myself particularly fascinated by the idea of the prequels at first. For me all the big questions had been answered by ROTJ. It was all pretty simple - Obi Wan... more

| | 3. Star Wars - Episode II, Attack of the Clones (Widescreen Edition) |
| Starring: Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Christopher Lee, Samuel L. Jackson Directed By: George Lucas March 22, 2005
For some reason, many people saw this as an improvement over episode 1. And I kind of understand why. No Jake Lloyd, not nearly as much screen time for Jar Jar, and Obi-Wan becomes more interesting as a character. But in my eyes, so many things were worse this time around. Qui-Gon's gone, and he is one of my favorite Star Wars characters. Darth Maul is dead, and we have a new villian for this... more

But... this review is in regard the extremely poor quality of the DVD. I am purplexed that many say the DVD picture qualtiy is good, because that is my major complaint. The scenes are all extremely dark; you can barely see what is going on even after adjusting... more

The original movie is classic. If you spent all Friday night "cruising" back in the 60's, this will bring back fond memories. Definitely 5 stars. The sequel is terrible - no stars... more
