5 out of 5 starsuh, Angel fan here, *as in only!!!*
I know I'm probably among the few here but I liked Angel much better than buffy! It's my favorite show like ever!!! its drama, tragedy, humor, character transformation, irony... I could go on and on. While Buffy was a little too teen for me.

I just want to say to all those non-fantasy show/movie watchers who think these shows are too teen and kid-ish out there: give Angel a try, you might be very surprised at how mature and dramatic it is.

5 out of 5 starsTotally up to expectation
This is such a fine series. For many of the episodes I feel as if I'm watching a movie rather than a TV show. The writing is superb most of the time as is the acting and directing. The homage to film noir and nods to older TV cop shows are also fun.
It's just a beautiful looking show. Every once and a while the themes are even subtle---this and a hunksome star---what more could you ask of TV?

5 out of 5 starsMy favorite show *sigh*
My son, when he was in college, got us hooked on Buffy. Buffy was so much more than a vampire show. It was about growing up. When Buffy ended we bought Angel season one. We continued to buy Angel until we had all 5 seasons. We couldn't watch season 5 on TV because the station we watched it on would preempt it with basketball.

Angel takes us into young adulthood. There is drama and action but what hooked us on Angel (and Buffy) was the humor. The writers were so creative. All of the characters were multi-faceted but the Angel team all wanted to do "the right thing" at great personal cost sometimes.

We actually delayed watching the last episode because we didn't want Angel to be over and done. But this is the type of show that one can watch over and over again. I guess we will have to buy all the Buffy episodes next.

5 out of 5 starsdie hard fan
I was (and still am) a die hard fan of buffy like I am one of the few people that know that tera is Allergic to shell fish. so when angel came out I was at first hessetent to watch it. but my boy-friend made me watch one show and I fell in love... like buffy season one starts off slow starting by telling his past how he got there then meeting up with an old sunnydale friend. this series has as much plot twist as buffy and I would tell any one that like's buffy has got to watch angel. there are some stuff that makes more sence if you watch them both and some stuff are totaly more funny if you watch them both.
