| 1. The Ghost King: Transitions, Book III |
|
By: R.A. Salvatore Publisher: Wizards of the Coast October 06, 2009
Now is a time of turmoil for the world of Toril. With magic of all varieties failing and the Prime Material plane intersecting with an alien plane of darkness and shadow, it would appear that the gods themselves have vanished. Strange maladies grip the populace, unknown monsters roam the lands, and an ancient wyrm has risen from the dead, merging with other beings of horrible power to assume the mantle... more

| 2. The Pirate King (Forgotten Realms: Transitions, Book 2) |
|
By: R.A. Salvatore Publisher: Wizards of the Coast October 07, 2008
As many know, the Forgotten Realms is changing. With the advent of Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition the FR timeline is being advanced approximately 100 years. The various "Drizzt Novels" so far have been set earlier in the timeline (corresponding with 2nd Edition AD&D and D&D 3rd Edition/ 3.5). The "Transitions Series" is an attempt to reconcile the two converging timelines, bridging the gap between... more

| 3. The Orc King (Forgotten Realms: Transitions, Book 1) (Bk. 1) |

By: R.A. Salvatore Publisher: Wizards of the Coast September 25, 2007
The whole Transitions series is a joke.
Even from the beginning of Orc King if you're a conscious reader you can already feel the stilted "I REALLY don't want to write this" vibe coming from the writing. The 3 books garner more questions and concerns than they eliminate and leave the reader confused and I, for one, no longer care about the story.
1) ORC KING: incongruities... more

|
By: R.A. Salvatore Publisher: Wizards of the Coast September 19, 1990
This is the beginning of the Legend of Drizzt series, which shouldn't be missed by any fantasy fan. It is the definitive Forgotten Realms series. I recommend it. This series is great fun. It's filled with classic characters and memorable moments in a popular and interesting world. Homeland starts just before the birth of Drizzt the Dark Elf in the underground city of Menzoberranzan, home of the evil... more

| 10. Dragons of the Hourglass Mage: The Lost Chronicles, Volume Three |
|
By: Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman Publisher: Wizards of the Coast August 04, 2009
As a long time Dragonlance fan, and a long time Raistlin fan, I have to say this book was boring, contrived and unoriginal. Weiss and Hickman have apparently just totally run out of good ideas, so they really should just quit while they are ahead. ... more
