I was really disappointed with this book. The colors are very dull and even though the story was ok, to me it just was not fun to read. My daughter, who is 3yrs old, loves for me to read to her, so it does not matter to her at all. I got a number of children's books this Christmas for the Toy Drives. This one was hard to let go. The style reminded me of the Little Golden Books I read when I was little. The drawings are softer and the colors more muted than in contemporary books.
