| 1. Pride and Prejudice |
|
By: Jane Austen Publisher: William Collins Pub 1973-06
Appropriate for children, this book has excitement, history, and christian thinking in the ways of social behavior. Safe for reading , I think a parent should read it first to clear it for their children, but it can be a good novel for children to read.Pride and Prejudice (Penguin Classics)... more

| 2. Art of Racing in the Rain |
|
By: Garth Stein Publisher: Harper Collins Omes January 01, 2008
I just loved "The Art of Racing in the Rain". It was difficult to put down and I hated for the story to end. I really love dogs, but even if you never had a dog, or don't particularly like them, this story is much more than a story told by a dog. It affects you in positive ways, and also makes you think and ponder about life itself. I would highly recommend it to anyone... more

| 4. Wolf Hall (a Om) |
|
By: Hilary Mantel Publisher: Harper Collins Omes January 07, 2010
This is the kind of book that a reader can sink their teeth into and, be forewarned, it is not a quick read. This book is dense with ideas, story and characters and I was extremely thankful for the glossary at the beginning of the book listing who was who and where they lived. I can understand where some readers got very confused and frustrated but if you keep in mind that this is Thomas Cromwell's... more

| 5. Freakonomics |
|
By: Steven D. Levitt, Stephen J. Dubner Publisher: Harper Collins 2006
The book collects statistics and interprets the data by correlating the statistical data with events happening around us. This may be mere coincidence or a good example of "cause and effect" scenario.
For example, the author talks about abortion and how abortion has prevented crime rates in the US. He concludes that abortion in low income group or in not so good neighborhood, has resulted... more

| 7. Pirate Latitudes |
|
By: Michael Crichton Publisher: Harper Collins January 01, 2009
I do not think this book was intended to be published. It touches a little bit many plots without much substance. I had high expectations, the book was disappointing and crude. I am sad this was the book that closed such an amazing career for Mr. Crichton who is one of the best authors of our time... more

| 9. Merry Adventures of Robin Hood (Classics for today) |

By: Howard Pyle Publisher: Collins May 14, 1973
Told with charm and gusto, here are the "true" merry tales of Robin Hood. No goofy guys in tights here, but loyal fellows proudly donning hunter green to join the band of outdoors men, out of work and outlawed by an unjust government that confiscates unfair taxes from the unfortunate... more

| 10. The Alchemist (Collins Readers) |
|
By: Paulo Coelho Publisher: Collins Educational April 20, 2006
The alchemist is a book written to persuade everyone to listen to their hearts and chase their dreams. The alchemist believes if you don't listen to your heart, for whatever reason, then you will live your life with constant fear of the unknown and unable to live a fulfilling life. This book is about one young man's journey to realizing his dreams. I would reccommend this book because it... more
