| 2. Venus in Furs and Selected Letters of Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch |
|
By: Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch Publisher: Blast Books 1989
It is a good read and an excellent story. Venus in Furs is a classic that should be read more often; the story captures your attention to the point were you just don't want to put it down. However, it is not for those with closed minds or those who are faint of heart (or unflexible morals)... more

| 3. Mutter Museum Historic Medical Photographs |
|
By: College of Physicians of Philadelphia Publisher: Blast Books November 28, 2007
I've seen a couple of tours of the museum on television, and thought this would make nice gift for my daughter who is interested in such things. One small photo with caption on each otherwise empty page was not what I expected. Not enough information, and considering all the exhibits that are in the museum, not enough photos. Save your money and just borrow this from the library. ... more

By: Blaise Cendrars Publisher: Blast Books 1990-10
Way before the Cold War, and even before WW II, Western civilization apparently went nuts and planned on potentially killing everybody. This fictional book is a case study in how it happened. Very dark satire. ... more

| 6. Mental Hygiene: Better Living Through Classroom Films 1945-1970 |
|
By: Ken Smith Publisher: Blast Books November 19, 1999
I was hoping a for a bit more information from this book, but for what it is trying to do, it's a great study in this fascinating genre of film that has been neglected over the years. I was always one of those people who got some sort of twisted pleasure out of watching these terrible films that my peers loathed so much.
The book is divided into four sections, the first being two short... more

|
By: Ken Smith Publisher: Blast Books November 09, 2001
Smith makes many valid points in this book, detailing many ways in which the language is commonly abused. He doesn't have nearly the sense of humor about the subject as I'd expected, however, and there are a few cases in which I think he disdains a perfectly legitimate usage... more

| 9. Ken's Guide to the Bible |
|
By: Ken Smith Publisher: Blast Books September 18, 1995
Ken's Guide is a great tool for those that want to spend their time researching the absurdity of the Bible, without having to wade through all it's nonsense. And I suppose that those particularly insightful people (if any exist), that take the Bible as the gospel truth, may find it useful to develop a defense for it's stupidity. For the rest of us, it's simply just an amusing critique on a subject... more

| 10. The Mutter Museum: Of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia |
|
By: Gretchen Worden Publisher: Blast Books October 07, 2002
I think the photographs in this were nice, from a photography stand point. I was hoping for more plain photographs of the items that you could really dissect and look at and placed more in a museum stance instead of at strange "artsy" angles with other odd "artsy" attachments. You also get very little information about the articles in the photographs other then the tiny caption... more
