Caps the end of a truly interesting time in Marvel's history. The reimagining of various X-Men characters, coupled with an updated history of many other Marvel icons, bring this memorable series to a close. This issue continues with much of the high drama from earlier issues and leads to many satisifying conclusions along with quite a number of tragic ones. A truly great read! ... more

in volume 4 the age of apocalypse comes to an end in the issue xmen omega. however for some reason there are more issues included afterwards that really have little to do with AoA. the AoA series is great but i think these collections could have been better. they could have left out some of the stuff in volume one and all the stuff after xmen omega in volume 4 and made it into three volumes. ... more

| By: Tom DeFalco, J. M. DeMatteis, Terry Kavanagh, David Michelinie, Mark Bagley, Sal Buscema, Ron Lim, Tom Lyle, Alex Saviuk Publisher: Marvel Comics January 19, 2005
I come from Africa. If you see adjacent comics in a series like Maximum carnage, you know you are going to have your face eaten by a terrier on the way home. It just doesnt happen. So 17 years pass, and I get the opportunity to purchase this sucka. Apparently I was a cretin before puberty. There are 3 lines pooled between the good guys, and the bad guys get their 3. The whole freaking shebang involves... more

| | 4. X-Men: The Complete Onslaught Epic, Book 1 |
| By: Jeph Loeb, Mark Waid, Scott Lobdell, Peter David, Terry Kavanagh Publisher: Marvel Comics December 20, 2007
This is a prime example of why people left comics. Publishers thought they could publish terrible art with writing lacking any substance and people would buy it, regardless. Yes, there is always mediocre comics published today, but they are not as plentiful as back in the '90's. This story and artwork hurt my stomach and heart, for I love comics. Do yourselves a favor and read Mike Carey's... more

| By: Scott Lobdell, John Francis Moore, Brian K. Vaughan, Howard Mackie, Ralph MacChio, Terry Kavanagh, Judd Winick Publisher: Marvel Comics April 26, 2006
Don't buy this book!
Although it features stories from the Age of Apocalyse story line, it doesn't "begins here" as stated on the book description. It is mearly a collection of one-shots and stand alone issues but with almost nothing to do with the main story line. If you realy want to read the age of apocalyse, buy books 2, 3 and 4, not this so called "book 1". ... more
