| 1. Redwall: The Graphic Novel |
| By: Brian Jacques November 05, 2007
I never read the novel version, but I read this and loved the story. I got this as a present to my sister who read and loved the Redwall series. She love the graphic novel version and was happy to say it only slightly abridged the story. A worthwhile read and great buy whether you're new to Redwall or not. I highly recommend it... more

| | 2. Annihilation, Book 3 (Marvel Comics) (Bk. 3) |
| By: Keith Giffen, Christos Gage, Stuart Moore, Andrea Divito, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Mike McKone, Scott Kolins Publisher: Marvel Comics December 19, 2007
The first two books of this collection were hit and miss for me but this third book really hammered home how good Marvel cosmic can be. There was solid stroy-telling from both art and writing. The thing that this avoided (except for the Heralds extra 2 issues) was there was no "big concept" cosmic stuff that bores the crap out of everyone. I really enjoyed how the story ended and look forward to... more

| | 4. The Transformers: Spotlight, Vol. 2 |
| By: Simon Furman, Stuart Moore, Nick Roche, Don Figueroa, Guido Guidi, Marcelo Matere, Robby Musso By: Nick Roche Publisher: IDW Publishing February 29, 2008
This is a good collection of one shot "character spotlights" in the IDW Transformers universe. Yes, Optimus Prime appears in a solo story and it is OK. I'm not a fan of the villian in this story, but once you understand the supporting characters, it kinda makes sense...
Soundwave's story is great. Kinda ironic towrds the end, too...
Kup's story is very different and fun, too... more

| | 6. The Nightmare Factory |
| By: Joe Harris, Stuart Moore, Thomas Ligotti Publisher: Harper Paperbacks September 04, 2007
Thomas Ligotti is an author who has mined a unique corner of the field of contemporary weird fiction. His work draws upon the cosmological horror of Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgson, the hallucinatory fancies of Poe and De Quincey, the alarming disquiet of Algernon Blackwood and the visceral unease of "Books Of Blood" era Clive Barker and weaves them into a unique tapestry of existential horror which... more

| | 7. Neurons In Action 2: Tutorials and Simulations using NEURON |
| By: John W. Moore; Anne E. Stuart Publisher: Sinauer Associates, Inc. April 30, 2007
I spent more than 10 days waiting for the book, but very very disappointed when I received it -- not only because of the slow shipping, but more important is, the CD has a crack on it. You know, it is brand new! Although the CD was readable, I am still very angry. I paid full price for the book and CD, but got a set with significant flaw. ... more

| | 8. Michael Chabon Presents...The Amazing Adventures of the Escapist Volume 2 (Amazing Adventures of the Escapist (Graphic Novels)) |
| By: Brian K Vaughan, Kevin McCarthy, Marv Wolfman, Matt Kindt, Roy Thomas, Stuart Moore, Mike Mignola, Roger Petersen, Dean Haspiel, Joe Staton, and others Publisher: Dark Horse December 08, 2004
The first volume, consisting of the content of issues no. 1 and 2 of the comic book series based on the fictional comic book characters from Chabon's novel, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, was much more successful than this second installment, taken from nos. 3 and 4. Maybe the "try harder" rule about sequels applies here, too, but the quality of both art and plotting is much lower and... more

| | 9. Batman: Death and the City |
| By: Paul Dini, Stuart Moore, Royal McGraw, Don Kramer, Andy Clarke Publisher: DC Comics November 07, 2007
Paul Dini is one of the best current writers for Batman. This collection of Detective Comics #827-834 highlights Batman's role as a detective more than that of a superhero. I found the stories well written and the art is beautiful. Five of the eight stories are written masterfully by Paul Dini and illustrated by Don Kramer. The other three stories compliment those by Dini and are written by Stuart... more
