| 1. Legends II: New Short Novels by the Masters of Modern Fantasy |
|
From: Del Rey / Ballantine Books Publisher: Del Rey / Ballantine Books December 30, 2003
I have been stuck in the mud with too many serial authors. I feel trapped by books with cliff hangers which require you to read the next book to have any closure. I was finally looking for a book of short fantasy stories when I bought this book and what I got was a book whose only intention was to sell you on even more serial authors. Without checking, I'm almost certain that every short story in... more

|
By: Robert Williams, Thomas Andrews, Ian Edginton, Lucas Maragnon, Brandon Badeaux, Cully Hamner, Michel LaCombe, Steve Pugh By: Lucas Maragnon Publisher: Dark Horse February 08, 2006
There are two stories that relate to KOTOR I and II. Some interesting stories on some other lesser known charecters as well, however, this collection didnt have enough of my main favorites (Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Palpitine) to be that interesting to me. Full of bit charecters, the other collections have a much better spread... more

| 3. Legends II: Shadows, Gods, and Demons |
|
By: Neil Gaiman, Anne McCaffrey, Tad Williams, Robin Hobb May 29, 2008
Legends II is a great quick read. It gives you a glimpse of several different authors and their style, allowing you the opportunity to delve into their worlds and decide if you would like to follow-up on their other stories. I enjoyed them all, some more than others, of course, but would highly recommend this book to anyone "beginning" in fantasy science fiction. Pick it up, read it...you won't... more

| 7. Surfing the Conscious Nets: A Graphic Novel |
|
By: Timothy Leary Publisher: Last Gasp 1995-10
As "Lead" indicated in his previous post, this book would not have been possible without "Nicotine Jim" Bauer, because "Nicotine" Tim borrowed freely from his "wrighting," a term which Tim defines as "bi-brain chaos". A paranoid manic-depressive with schizophrenic tendencies, his review of Tim's book appears to have been written during one of his more psychotic moments. I am saddened to say that... more

| 9. Zombie Mystery Paintings |
|
By: Robert Williams, R. Crumb Publisher: Last Gasp 1993-01
I think the art is great. I would have liked a bigger format but for the price it wasn't bad, however, there is a lot of Williams' superfluous description or whatever you want to call that. Personally I didn't find it very entertaining or even necessary, thus the lower rating... more

| 10. The Red Box: The Phantasma-Allegorical Portraits of Stacy Lande |
|
By: Stacy Lande Publisher: Last Gasp 2001-02
This book is a must for anyone who appreciates the classical art of the nude where it meets modern day pop culture. The artist Lande has successfully combined Victorian fin-de-siecle and German expressionist sensibilities with the present day punk rock, demi-monde zeitgeist. These exquisitely painted erotic portraits, of people Lande has experienced in her Los Angeles night life experience... more
