| 1. Last Dinner On the Titanic: Menus and Recipes from the Great Liner |
|
By: Rick Archbold, Dana McCauley Publisher: Hyperion April 03, 1997
Recipes seem to be very, very well researched so as to detail preparation/ingredients as they would have been in the early 1900's (since the preparation of food has changed much since then, even if the food's title has remained the same). And aside from that, the book contains great stories and photos of the kitchens, dining rooms, etc (some of which I haven't seen elsewhere). Talks about lives... more

| 3. Ghost Liners: Exploring the World's Greatest Lost Ships (64pp) |
|
By: Robert D. Ballard, Rick Archbold, Ken Marschall Publisher: Little, Brown Young Readers September 01, 1998
Personally, I rate Dr Ballard's books; The Discovery of the Titanic, Lost ships of Guadalcanal, Return to Midway and Exploring the Lusitania as some of the finest works on the subject of shipwrecks ever to have been published. On this occasion, however, I am left with a feeling of disappointment at finding such a thin book.
Perhaps anything short of the discovery of another Titanic would... more

I looked forward to reading this book immensely, and I was not disappointed. I also highly recommend to read the following "CENSORED" books: 1) "THE HOAX OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY" by Arthur R. Butz. 2) "NOT GUILTY AT NUREMBERG" by Carlos W. Porter. 3) "FLASH POINT - Kristallnacht 1938. Instigators, victims and beneficiaries" by Ingrid Weckert. 4) "TREBLINKA - Extermination... more

| 6. The Lost Ships of Guadalcanal: Exploring the Ghost Fleet of the South Pacific |
|
By: Robert D. Ballard, Rick Archbold Publisher: Warner Books 1993-10
The work of Dr Robert D. Ballard knows no bounds and is truly inspirational to those of us who read of his exploits and seek to emulate his standards with much lesser shipwrecks.
Once again, just as soon as I took delivery of "The Lost Ships of Guadalcanal" I knew I had a 5 Star Book in my hands and, once again, I found nothing within it's 220 pages to make me take away any of those stars... more

By: Rick Archbold Publisher: Black Walnut/Madison Press March 01, 2010
...I think here Mr Bateman was already going downhill a bit. The first two books of his that I purchased, when I was a kid, were absolutely marvelous. The world or Robert Bateman and The Art of Robert Bateman remain two of the best wildlife art books ever published. Awe-inspiring pictures, where the landscape is at least as important as the animal. Maddening detail, and fantastic colors. Then Mr Bateman... more
