| 1. Ender's Shadow |
|
By: Orson Scott Card Publisher: Tor Books August 31, 1999
I didn't fall in love with "Ender's Game" like everyone else, but I decided to give this book a chance. Even though it takes place during the same time period and place, I found it worth reading. It stays more on point than the other book and was just easier to read... more

This is more of a picture book than an art book. Orson Scott Card filled in the role as the writer for the story.

| 3. Legends II: New Short Novels by the Masters of Modern Fantasy |
|
From: Del Rey / Ballantine Books Publisher: Del Rey / Ballantine Books December 30, 2003
I have been stuck in the mud with too many serial authors. I feel trapped by books with cliff hangers which require you to read the next book to have any closure. I was finally looking for a book of short fantasy stories when I bought this book and what I got was a book whose only intention was to sell you on even more serial authors. Without checking, I'm almost certain that every short story in... more

|
By: Orson Scott Card, Andy Kubert, Mark Bagley Publisher: Marvel Comics October 25, 2006
Orson Scott Card to SciFiScanner on this book:
"I really hate superhero comics. Then Marvel comes to me with this character, and when they told me what it was I said, "Wow, that is even dumber than most superhero comics." This guy is the head of a multi-million dollar international corporation -- that's a full-time job. He is also a scientist-inventor-engineer -- that's a full-time job... more

| 6. A Quest-Lover's Treasury of the Fantastic |
|
From: Aspect Publisher: Aspect May 01, 2002
I all want to say in this short review is that this is one of the best (short) collections of fantasy stories out there. Every one of the stories is engaging and continues being so all the way till the end. My favorite by far is "Bully and the Beast" by Orson Scott Card. Beautiful and thought-provoking. Most of the stories have humor worked into them too. I highly recommend this collection... more

| 7. Ultimate Iron Man, Vol. 1 (v. 1) |
|
By: Orson Scott Card, Andy Kubert Publisher: Marvel Comics April 05, 2006
I love the Ultimate Marvel Universe. 90% of the time, what they come up with are fresh, well written, modernized versions of classic characters that expertly toe the fine line between originality and paying homage to what had gone before. So applying that approach to Iron Man, an established, complex character consistently written by underachieving, unimaginative writers should be a perfect match... more

By: Orson Scott Card Publisher: Marvel Comics October 29, 2008
The fist volume was weak and this book does not tie into the Ultimate Universe. Whats the point then? Not even a good book for the most die hard of Iron Man fans... more

|
By: Orson Scott Card, Jake Black, Adriano Batista, Vitor Ishimura Publisher: Marvel Comics March 26, 2008
I've read this book several times and find it a great allegory for dysfunctional childhoods, co-dependence and addiction. What else is Patience but a neglected child whose focus is survival and pleasing her distant father? After her father's death and the revelation of her true identity, Patience questions who she really is - as she says, perhaps simply a piece of paper folded by others and when the... more
