Three stories, all troubled. The first story features Laura struggling to teach a human-centric curriculum. The second is a crisis of conscience for Tom Zarek. The third has Starbuck crossing a line that is quasi-believable. The art style swings wildly from story to story, which I don't mind, but seems like a strange choice for such a short volume. I first read "O Ugly Bird!" as a child in a paperback anthology of my Dad's and was struck by John's bravery and courage. I have 2 or three different editions of "Who Fears the Devil?" that were printed over the years and I have extra copies of Baen Book's "John The Balladeer" collection for myself (I keep one at the office) and to give away.
