|
By: Dick Wood, Leo Dorfman, Paul S. Newman, Joe Certa, Ray Bailey, Alex Toth, Mike Sekowsky, Others Publisher: Dark Horse February 24, 2010
Great anthology. Dark Horse has another winner. The stories aren't as scary as I remember, but the glossy pages and reproduction are actually better the the originals. The book is fairly pricey, but the good feeling I get looking and reading the book is worth it. I would recommend it to anyone who likes the old Dell comics... more

| 2. Showcase Presents: Justice League of America, Vol. 1 |
|
By: Gardner Fox Publisher: DC Comics December 07, 2005
I'll keep it simple, the art is nice, but the stories are really hard to get through. I love the Format but the story telling is so beyond bad its like pulling teeth at times. These comics could have used a little more character period. The JLA members are like blocks of wood inhabiting a world full of would be world conquers from outer space. There is nothing here worth while as far as story telling... more

Totally fab stories and artwork of the 1970's Wonder Woman. I love love love that Diana Prince has to try to make it without her Wonder Woman powers. Plus we get to see her in cool retro outfits... more

| 9. Justice League of America Archives, Vol. 6 (DC Archive Editions) |
|
By: Gardner Fox Publisher: DC Comics July 01, 2000
I held off buying the DC Archive editions for years because of the hefty price. Then I bought a couple used and I saw that they are worth every penny. At least they are worth it if you grew up with these titles. It was amazing how many of these stories (and specific panels) that I personally remembered after nearly 50 years.
Volume six contains stories originally published in Justice... more

| 10. Showcase Presents: The Brave and the Bold - The Batman Team-Ups, Vol. 1 |
|
By: Bob Haney, Mike Sekowsky Publisher: DC Comics January 24, 2007
The first 300 pages of this collection are absolutely painful to read. Groan-inducing dialog, uninteresting villains and boring stories that drag on for 23 pages each. I almost gave up. Then about 300 pages in, Neal Adams takes over as the artist and everything changes. Comics are a visual medium and this collection proves the importance and influence a great artist can have. The stories drawn... more
