| 1. The Unlikely Spy |
|
By: Daniel Silva Publisher: Brilliance Audio on CD Unabridged March 20, 2009
I am a huge fan of Daniel Silva books and have read all the "Gabriel Allon" series to date. I was excited to finally read his debut novel and found it to be extremely well written, as are all his books, with fascinating characters and great suspense. I think that Daniel Silva is one of my most favorite authors and I would encourage anyone who enjoys espionage thrillers to put this book at the top... more

| 4. Living With Intensity: Understanding the Sensitivity, Excitability, and the Emotional Development of Gifted Children, Adolescents, and Adults |
|
From: Great Potential Pr., Inc. Publisher: Great Potential Pr., Inc. November 01, 2008
I appreciated the parts of the book about overexcitablities, but I was expecting more practical information about how to live with OE or how to live with a child with OE. All the material about Dabrowski's theory of the levels of development assumes a belief in a humanistic transcendental experience of self-actualization as the ultimate goal of human experience.
"Level V is the perfection... more

| 5. Robinson Crusoe (Norton Critical Editions) |
|
By: Daniel Defoe Publisher: W. W. Norton & Company December 17, 1993
Boring, tedious, verbose, rambling, yawn. He could have told this story in about 50 pages. A real snoozer. I understand that is an important work for it's place in history but seriously--YAWN!... more

| 6. The DC Comics Encyclopedia, Updated and Expanded Edition |
|
By: Michael Teitelbaum, Scott Beatty, Robert Greenburger, Daniel Wallace Publisher: DK Publishing September 29, 2008
I'd be very wary of some of the information in this AND the previous printing. I happen to know that the entries for two of the "Marvel Family" characters were plagiarized. Mary Marvel's was lifted off a fanfiction website and Captain Marvel Junior's from a role-playing game site. I know this because I originally wrote them and neither jibe with "history" listed in the DCU Captain Marvel's entry... more

| 7. Israel & the Palestinian Territories (Country Guide) |
|
By: Amelia Thomas, Michael Kohn, Miriam Raphael, Daniel Savery Raz Publisher: Lonely Planet April 01, 2010
The authors surprise with a critical attitude towards Christianity and Judaism. That is a pity for the traveller, since the interesting places are not situated in the realm of the Palaestinians. For Christian pilgrims this is irritating, the hypothermic style : Jesus is said to have performed miracles there", with the omission of detailed background information which in Israel is at least forcing itself... more

| 8. The Life and Adventures of Robinson Crusoe (Core Classics) |
|
By: Daniel Defoe Publisher: Core Knowledge Foundation 1997-08
The name "Robinson Crusoe" readily conjures up images of a sad castaway on a desert island, who after years of solitude comes up a man's footprint in the sand. But in reading Daniel Defoe's novel of 1719, I was surprised how different the work is from its common stereotype. Not until about 50 pages in does Crusoe end up a castaway, having before hand some misadventures as a young sailor. Instead of... more
