| 2. Torso: A True Crime Graphic Novel |
|
By: Brian Michael Bendis Publisher: Image Comics February 16, 2001
I really enjoyed reading this book so didn't want give a poor rating based on that. However, the book itself literally fell apart. First the cover came off and then chunks of pages began falling out. Very disappointed since I really like the material itself... more

| 3. Manhunter Vol. 1: Street Justice (DC Comics) |
|
By: Marc Andreyko Publisher: DC Comics December 01, 2005
Being a reader of comics for over 30 years, I've become jaded when I hear of a new book with a female lead. Years of bad stories and idiotic t&a art made me question whether or not to even bother with this. This book breaks the mold. Marc Andreyko writes a mature, human, and smart lead in Kate Spencer. Exceptional art by Javier Pina only adds to the goodness that is this collection. Well worth the... more

| 4. Trick 'r Treat |
|
By: Marc Andreyko Publisher: WildStorm October 13, 2009
This is an enjoyable read and is exact copy of the film. If you haven't seen the film, then watch it first because a lot of the twists & turns are fun in the film and if you read them here they'll have less of an impact when you watch the film. They don't carry as much weight in the comic book format so watch the film first. Then read this because it's still great fun... more

| 5. Manhunter Vol. 3: Origins (DC Comics) |
|
By: Marc Andreyko Publisher: DC Comics August 01, 2007
The third volume of Marc Andreyko's "Manhunter" series carries on at the same level of quality as the previous two. Kate Spencer, from the start, has been a cross between Marvel Comics' Daredevil (a comparison that becomes even more apt when she leaves her prosecutorial career for a defence attorney's job midway through) and the Punisher (lacking the latter's psychosis). Kate is also a single mother... more

| 6. Manhunter Vol. 2: Trial by Fire (DC Comics) |
|
By: Marc Andreyko Publisher: DC Comics January 03, 2007
The second volume of Marc Andreyko's "Manhunter" series picks up from the origin arc collected in volume one. We were earlier introduced to Los Angeles prosector Kate Spencer, who, tired of the many supervillains slipping through the justice system, dons a collection of items from the district's impound, and becomes the seventh DC hero to use the superhero identity Manhunter. We were also introduced... more

| 7. Castlevania: The Belmont Legacy |
|
By: Marc Andreyko, E.J. Su Publisher: IDW Publishing November 02, 2005
I bought this book as a fan of the Castlevania games (especially Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1) and its progeny), and I admit my expectations were low. I was braced for MST3K fodder, and even I was unprepared for just how bad this book is.
The art is solid. Except a sketchy panel here or there, it is well-rendered in a mainstream American style, but does not fall into American... more

| 8. Manhunter: Forgotten |
|
By: Marc Andreyko Publisher: DC Comics May 05, 2009
Marc Andreko's Manhunter was like the little DC title that could. Well, almost could. FORGOTTEN collects the last issues of Manhunter's run as a monthly title. Despite great reviews and a vocal loyal following, the monthly never really took off the way it deserved to. But, heck, they had to cancel it twice before it would stay down. Still, its run was cut short with little warning; this collection... more

| 9. Manhunter Vol. 4: Unleashed (DC Comics) |
|
By: Marc Andreyko Publisher: DC Comics January 30, 2008
I didn't know Manhunter before until I purchased the graphic novel and I found it interesting, but the character is a little bit weak. Kate Spencer (Manhunter) is like Dare Devil but she lives in L.A. and she's not blind. She accepts to represent Diana-Wonder Woman in her trial in a Federal court for the murder of Maxwell Lord, the script in that lacks of excitement, because it finishes making WW winning... more

| 10. Nightwing: The Lost Year |
|
By: Marv Wolfman, Marc Andreyko Publisher: DC Comics March 05, 2008
The Lost Year is taken from Nightwing #133-137 and Nightwing Annual #2. It looks back on the story of how Dick and Barbara's relationship came to be and also features Dick's other relationships. I thought that there was a lot of sexual overtones to this book. That would have been fine if it was done in a better way, but in this story it seems to be there as part of a joke. I like stories with more... more
