Book Description: A young girl named Hakufu Sonsaku has a burning desire to beat people up but her mother has forbidden it. After a chance encounter with a Toushi at school, Hakufu's mother asks her to leave home and go to Tokyo, where she can develop her abilities as a Toushi, and fight to her heart's content.
Too Much Fun A friend suggested I read this series. I had not read much Manga and did not know if I would like it. LOVED IT. If you are a DC Comics reader you may know Keith Giffen. He wrote the English Dialogue for this series. I did not know that at the time I read it, but found that out when I read 'Manga : The Complete Guide' a massive compilation of about 700 reviews of various types of Manga. The writeing style is rather self aware and makes fun of the 'fan service' in a fun way. The story is very much a 'Buffy the Vampire' - type of storyline about a Girl who finds out that she is something much more powerful than she thought and must learn to deal with that and deal with the people that would do her harm. It's a fun series, with interesting characters and is a great starting point for americans to make that jump to a new format. There are also 2 anime series based on this called Ikkitousen and Ikkitousen : Dragon's Destiny.
More fighting and fanservice fun from Battle Vixens Those of you who are already following Yuji Shiozaki's intriguing, but sometimes convoluted story of professional fighting high schoolers, reincarnation, paranormal powers, and busty girls unable to keep their uniforms on for very long will find Volume 10 another funny, titillating, action-packed installment of BATTLE VIXENS. Those who haven't however, may not only have no idea what's going on, but could also be slightly offended by the high level of over-the-top, shameless fanservice and violence that's typical of both BATTLE VIXENS and Shiozaki's other popular manga, BATTLE CLUB. But amid the graphic gratutiousness, BATTLE VIXEN's biggest strengths are its characters and the dark and sexy world they live in. After nine volumes of character introductions, Volume 10 is the book in the series that events in the previous volumes begin to come together.
A manga that needs understanding. For those that are truly confused in the story line. You should probably actually research the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. It is quite interesting that a manga is actually based with fan service, as well as historical relevance. This is absolutely a great manga series to read. I still collect because of its historical relevence, and Hakafu :3. To actually understand this series you have to read into a bit more.
This series is unique to its type; a manga based with history, and fan service smothered on top of it. If you guys wanted an in depth series try Gunslinger Girl which I reccomend to anyone that enjoys espioniage stuff, and futuristic stuff. Battle Vixen, or Ikki Tousen is a wonderful series that I reccomend to those that enjoy combat babes, and comedy on the side. The story isn't met to be handled with serious thought, but rather handled in a light mood. So quit over analyzing stuff you fellow nerds and geeks, and you fan boys.
Hakafu Sonsaku is a unique character which I thouroughly enjoy, not because of her character design, but her personality. She may be a ditz, but her determination to become stronger, and fight the strongest no matter who it is absolutely beautiful. This is the greatest series to read, but an enjoyable series to just sit down and enjoy. Once again, if you guys want an in depth story line, stay far away from this. I still don't understand how people get confused over this manga. Just don't skip a book XD. I did that once... never again!
Flawless Art I'm a manga artist, and I bought this book for the sole purpose of having a visual resource of busty female action scenes. The art in this series is consistent and masterfully executed. It also displays an extremely effective use of foreshortening.
However, the story is terribly confusing and hard to follow. I have up to book 6 and I still don't understand what's going on.
But if you just want it for the artwork, it's well worth it.
big breasts, expensive softporn. The drawings are lovely and very pretty. Really sexy. Hmm. You can understand, that this novel is worth buying for a certain reason...but then again, worth buying? The price is a little bit high - you can better try `google~hooker` or anything like that and then it is free. Unless you are desperately fan of Hakufu, the main character, which I think is a chance of 0.9 % out of 100%.
Anyway,on to the story. Hakufu, the girl with the ass and breasts, needs to fight to get the power of 1000 (as far as I think I get the story.) Her mother doesn't want that she fights...but she does it anyway. And then there is her cousin. Yes,he is her cousin, but he is looking at her breasts anyway. And then there are the enemies+ one of them has the same earring as Hakufu's mother (although I saw everybody else wearing it too? I don't know what it is supposed to mean, but I think we will get to know that in the next volume.) There is also a black haired girl and I think (or what I got from the story) is that she gets sexual pleasure out of fighting. And she is really good at it,too.
Honestly, maybe I just didn't got this story. Maybe I just misunderstood it,something that happens a lot to me. But when I just read it without searching for hidden tragic plotlines,It just annoys me,everything from the ultra shy cousin to the black haired fightress but Hakufu wins the jackpot. I am still searching for tragic hidden plotlines, and I will definitialy give this book a second chance, not because I miss my money but because I think there has to be something good in anything and there must be a reason why people love this.
