| 1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: A Quarter Century Celebration |
|
From: Heavy Metal Magazine Publisher: Heavy Metal Magazine June 26, 2009
This is 180 pages of Kevin Eastman's favorite Turtles stories--at least, the favorites he was able to fit within 180 pages. The book is oversized, even bigger than the First Publishing volumes; the paper is glossy and white; and some of the stories have been colored. The cover may look familiar--the artwork on the front is identical to that on First Publishing's Book IV, and I think the back is one... more

| 2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (First Graphic Novel) |
|
By: Kevin B. Eastman, Peter Laird, Dave Sim Publisher: First Classics 1989-09
This is my favorite out of the four First Graphic Novels. That's because it has such variety! One second the mutant heroes are out saving a medieval world along with Cerberus and a bumbling Renee; the next, they're helping Master Splinter as he awakens the ancient samurai spirit in a young man.
The art is much more enjoyable this time around. I especially love it in the final story... more

By: Kevin Eastman, Simon Bisley Publisher: Heavy Metal Magazine June 04, 2008
I received this and read it in one sitting the same day. If you are looking to buy TMNT stuff for your little kids, do NOT buy this. However, if you are looking for some ultra violent, abstract Frank Miller worship, BUY THIS NOW. If you have always wanted to see TMNT in an adult oriented story, BUY THIS NOW(you get to see Raphael shoot an Uzi at some thugs).
I truly felt like I was reading... more

|
By: Kevin B. Eastman Publisher: First Classics 1989-07
My cousin gave books 1 and 3 to me when I was 8 and I ate them up. I had far more fun with this collection of the original TMNT comics than I did with the kid-friendly, chubby-cheeked, pizza-loving bunch on TV. These Turtles have a lot more to lose than their cartoon counterparts.
The art is not pretty by any stretch of the imagination. The lineart is so darn thick it could stop a bunker... more

When I was 12 I had a friend who had the TMNT graphic novels.I went to his house and read them all. This one's my favorite. It was a time when the first two movies came out;and the TV cartoon got lamer and lamer.(i.e. jumped the shark.)Book #2 picked up where book #1 left off;how Master Splinter became missing and the Turtles are still searching for him.On a exercise run the Turtles got ambushed by "The... more

| 8. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (First Classics)) |
|
By: Kevin B. Eastman, Peter Laird Publisher: First Classics 1989-12
This graphic novel is a reprint of several old issues of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," and was the basis for the first TMNT movie. If you've seen the movie, you'll know how a lot of this goes - one of the turtles is ambushed (though here it is Leo, where in the movie it was Raph) and April's apartment gets trashed, and the Turtles head off into the country to at an old, dilapidated home (this time... more

| 9. Fistful of Blood |
|
By: Simon Bisley, Kevin Eastman Publisher: Heavy Metal Magazine June 30, 2002
The title of this review pretty much sums up Fistful of Blood, the grisley, pointless, yet strangely entertaining new book by Kevin Eastman (Of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fame) and Simon Bisley (Lobo, Slaine, Judge Dredd). The attractive, relatively low-priced hardcover by Heavy Metal books tells the near-future tale of a gorgeous blonde woman who stumbles (Buck-naked, of course) into a desert town... more
