| 1. The Phantom: The Ghost Who Walks |
| By: Ben Raab, Ron Goulart, Fernando Blanco, Mike Collins, Paul Mounts, Ken Wolak Publisher: Moonstone April 05, 2006
I am a huge Phantom fan, he's the hero of my childhood, and probably the only comic book hero that has survived the transition. In fact I think he's a better hero than Batman (who by the way I adore). No gadgets, no side kicks. Just his smarts and his pistols. Also The Phantom knows how to have a family life. I remember fondly waiting each Friday afternoon for the paper so that I could get my Phantom... more

| | 2. Buckaroo Banzai: Return Of The Screw |
| By: Mac Rauch, Stephen Thompson, Keith Williams, Ken Wolak Publisher: Moonstone September 29, 2007
In short "BRILLIANT". Way to go WD, Richter, I'm now going blue in the face waiting for the next installment.

| | 4. Kolchak the Night Stalker: Bare Bones (Kolchak the Nightstalker) |
| By: Joe Gentile, Dave Ulanski, William R. Halliar, Ken Wolak Publisher: Moonstone October 11, 2006
I am a big Kolchak fan and I have to admit I just scanned the description of this before ordering. Big mistake. It's not a collection of Kolchak short stories (as I thought) but in fact a collection of graphic novel (i.e., comic book) scripts, complete with notes to artists and ample typos. The fact that these are in script form makes it especially hard to read smoothly.
It's good for... more

| | 5. Kolchak Night Stalker |
| By: Jeff Rice, Gordon Purcell, Terry Pallot, Ken Wolak, Ken Meyer Publisher: Moonstone April 30, 2002
Even thirty years later Jeff Rice's concept of a seasoned newspaper reporter facing down a real honest to goodness vampire has lost none of its freshness, and down on his luck reporter Carl Kolchak remains an inspired creation. This adaptation of the novel reads like a cliff notes version of the tv movie also based on the novel (albeit with some spicier subject matter) and I found myself wishing that... more
