| 1. Angel Sanctuary, Vol. 8 |

This series is a true gem. This is manga storytelling at it's finest, a true epic saga that I haven't seen the likes of in manga.
The premise is an Orpheus and Eurydice-like tale, of the main character, Setsuna, doing anything and going anywhere (including Heaven and Hell) to find his love (and also younger sister), Sarah. This would have been interesting enough, except that he is the... more

Kaori Yuki, The Cain Saga: Godchild, vol. 3 (ViZ, 2002)
Two stories, "Zigeunerweisen" (in which we find out why this series is named Godchild) and "The Mortician's Daughter", a case of mistaken identity in which Mary Weather's suitor Oscar is mistaken for someone else. The second's connection to the overall storyline is tenuous, but it's still a good story. The series is really starting... more

Kaori Yuki, Godchild, vol. 5 (ViZ, 1999)
Godchild continues on with volume 5. Honestly, I wasn't as thrilled with this one as I have been with the past couple, but I can't put my finger on why that is. There seem to be some shifting allegiances, and a bit more probing into the story, but none of it really seemed tied to anything, if that makes any sense. Hoping it picks up again in vol... more

| By: kaori Yuki Publisher: VIZ Media LLC February 06, 2007
I love Godchild. I mean to me its up there with Mars and all my other favorite manga. The artwork is beautiful, the story dark and suspenseful and the characters interesting and well fleshed out. The only part that I don't like about volume four is the big blurb that says its explicit and the packaging on it. Why? Because although Godchild is violent and at times graphic its not that graphic. But... more

Kaori Yuki, Godchild, vol. 2 (ViZ, 2001)
Godchild picks up full steam in volume 2, which starts off with "Butterfly Bones," a four-episode(!) story. I didn't know Yuki had it in her to come up with a story arc that long, and I'm very glad she did. It's the series' strongest entry to date. The book is rounded out with two one-episode wonders that are decent, but nothing special; "Butterfly... more

| By: kaori Yuki Publisher: VIZ Media LLC August 07, 2007
I became addicted to this series from the moment I began reading it. Kaori Yuki never fails to deliver with her beautiful artwork and intriguing stories. While her paneling can get to be a bit confusing, everything else flows wonderfully. Cain, the eccecentric, poison-collecting Earl, is tortured beyond imagination in "Judas". Godchild volume six is filled with betrayal, tears, mystery, and the... more

Stop. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200 until you've read The Cain Saga.
Kaori Yuki is at it again with Godchild, an eight-volume follow up to The Cain Saga. This 19th-century Gothic horror series picks up about a year later but still has the same fine qualities we've come to know and love: beautiful artwork, cleverly devised tales based on children's rhymes, and a plot that spirals... more

| By: kaori Yuki Publisher: VIZ Media LLC November 06, 2007
Kaori Yuki is very talented. If you have read all of Godchild then I definately recommend this. If you have not, then start reading it. They only thing about this is that it has some homosexual undertones and if that bothers you then don't pick it up. But a must read for pure story and art alone. ... more

| From: VIZ Media LLC Publisher: VIZ Media LLC August 09, 2005
I love this art book! I've been wanting to buy it ever since I saw it at a bookstore that was closing but didn't get it then. I read the manga, saw the OVA and now I'm very happy with the beautiful and stunning artwork from this book and also the second one. Both are a great buy for fans of Kaori Yuki, Angel Sanctuary, or both... more
