I have alot of IT experience, but not with infrastructure, most everything in this book was new to me. I used it as my SOLE study guide, I did not use anything else. This is a good book for learning Windows Server 2008 applications infrastructure. It is not excessively long, is well written, and is particularly well organized. I used this book as part of the material I studied to help me successfully pass the 70-649 Windows Server 2008 upgrade test, and it would be equally good to help you pass that test, or the stand alone 70-643 Windows Server 2008 applications... more

Only buy this item in person where you can carefully inspect the set. Microsoft Press has shipped most of these box sets with two copies of the 70-294 book and NO copy of the 70-293 book. The box I received contained 70-290, 70-291, 70-294, 70-294. I bought this book with the intention of studying for the MCITP exam, and I passed. It takes daily discipline, and once you can pass the practice exams with a perfect score every time, then you will pass the real exam. It is a very good reference book as well.

I have passed all 3 exams using only these Study guides. This exam is the most difficult due to the format, not the material. The exam makes you read 8 pages of case study and then asks you 10 questions. The questions all conform to MS Best Practices, which is what this book is all about.
