|
By: Dan Brereton By: Dan Brereton Publisher: Oni Press December 15, 1998
I was pleasently surprised that the story line is fairly unique and interesting. I expected it to be a bit cheesy and bought it as a guilty pleasure but the characters and story stand up quite well...it's no Alan Moore...but definately enjoyable... more

By: Dan Brereton Publisher: Olympian Publishing November 01, 2006
Daniel Brereton's Nocturnals is a comic that shouldn't work. It throws together elements of pulp novels, westerns, Lovecraftian horror, and crime noir and makes something totally new that doesn't just work, it rocks. The resulting blend is unlike anything you've ever read, and it's a ton of fun.
This volume collects the first two stories of the Nocturnals, and includes a new story, "Clean... more

| 4. Nocturnal Conspiracies: Nineteen Dreams From December 1979 to September 1994 |

By: David B. Publisher: ComicsLit 2008-12

By: Dan Brereton By: Dan Brereton Publisher: Oni Press October 15, 2002
Neat compilation of stories focusing more on the youngest member of the Nocturnals, Halloween Girl. The young daughter of Doc Horror gets herself into a lot of trouble in this one but she either gets by with a little help from her friends, or figures a way to get herself out of trouble. A little cutesy in places but still a worth while read. I do recommend you get this with one or two of the other... more

After reading Nocturnals: A Midnight Companion for the Mutants & Masterminds RPG, I decided that I wanted to see what a Nocturnals book was really like. I drove by a local comic book shop and browsed through their collection. I settled on The Dark Forever and picked it up.
The story, art and dialogue is certainly fantastic. It is quirky and in a world of its own. The Brereton's... more
