| 1. The Green Monster (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ready-to-Read) |
|
From: Simon Spotlight Publisher: Simon Spotlight April 06, 2004
This is a terrifically pared down version of the cartoon episode of the same name. It leaves out the scarier and harder-to-understand [for young children] elements of the story without actually changing it, and the sentence structure and choice of words is short, simple and perfect for the age group it is intended for. I can honestly say that I would be thrilled to share these books with my baby brothers... more

| 3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (First Classics)) |
|
By: Kevin B. Eastman Publisher: First Classics 1989-07
My cousin gave books 1 and 3 to me when I was 8 and I ate them up. I had far more fun with this collection of the original TMNT comics than I did with the kid-friendly, chubby-cheeked, pizza-loving bunch on TV. These Turtles have a lot more to lose than their cartoon counterparts.
The art is not pretty by any stretch of the imagination. The lineart is so darn thick it could stop a bunker... more

By: Michael Dooney By: Michael Dooney Publisher: Archie Comics May 27, 2009
This handy little collection features the first 3 issues of the Archie Comics series, which adapted the first few episodes of the original cartoon. Hopefully, they will continue to reprint these, as the very underrated Archie Comics series of TMNT hits its stride after branching out into its own with issue #5. ... more

This was a good book for the kids. My older son read this with no trouble and there is plenty of reading (not just one sentence or short phrase ona page)It has a good positive story about helping out your friends. We liked it... more

| 8. Turtle Tales: An Insider's Guide by Leonardo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (8x8)) |
|
By: Jim Thomas Publisher: Simon Spotlight February 27, 2007
If you or your children have a love of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, then you will most likely want to add this book to your collection. My son and I enjoy reading and re-reading this book, supposedly put together by Leonardo. In an almost scrapebook format that tells about the Turtles and all their friends. I think it's a good primer if you are unfamiliar with who they are and what they are all... more

By: Erick Wujcik Publisher: Palladium Books Inc 1989-03
Out of all the TMNT & OS source books this one is easily the best. With rules for time and cross-dimensional travel, plus stats for making dinosaur characters. If you only get one TMNT source book, this is more than likely the one you'll want... more

| 10. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: A Quarter Century Celebration |
|
From: Heavy Metal Magazine Publisher: Heavy Metal Magazine June 26, 2009
This is 180 pages of Kevin Eastman's favorite Turtles stories--at least, the favorites he was able to fit within 180 pages. The book is oversized, even bigger than the First Publishing volumes; the paper is glossy and white; and some of the stories have been colored. The cover may look familiar--the artwork on the front is identical to that on First Publishing's Book IV, and I think the back is one... more
