| 1. Ares: God of War (Marvel Comics) |
| By: Michael Avon Oeming, Travel Foreman Publisher: Marvel Comics November 01, 2006
I need to apologize to the Marvel character of Ares. You see, before reading this TPB, most of my knowledge of the character came from the Brian Michael Bendis series, The Mighty Avengers. I always knew him as the dumb jock comic relief. He was someone with a short temper who usually shouts at the top of his lungs: "How dare thee!" or "For I am a God!" He is so poorly written in that series... more

| | 3. Powers Vol. 6: Sellouts |
| By: Brian Michael Bendis, Michael Avon Oeming Publisher: Marvel Comics August 11, 2004
Powers is the greatest comic book series in the world! I feel really dumb for trying to finish reading the earlier stuff so late because Bendis and Oeming have just realeased vol. 3 of the series with a whole new number one. It is a great series for people who love comics and the crime and superhero genre. Would recommend this to anyone... more

I thought the movie increased Jades role and that perhaps she belongs in a jupiter video what with all the sanskrit/tibetan writing on her at the end... more

| | 5. Powers Vol. 10: Cosmic (v. 10) |
| By: Brian Michael Bendis, Michael Avon Oeming Publisher: Marvel Comics November 07, 2007
I've been waiting for this trade ever since my local comic store got me hooked into this title a couple of years ago. For those of us avoiding buying the serial so we could have nice thick trades on our shelves it's been very frustrating watching Marvel push the release date back and back and back (especially considering that the book already existed in comic book form - have you guys ever heard of... more

| | 6. Powers Vol. 9: Psychotic (v. 9) |
| By: Brian Michael Bendis, Michael Avon Oeming Publisher: Marvel Comics February 15, 2006
Powers as a series waned pretty fast. Just couldn't maintain the momentum. Bit of a lost opportunity. Then again, maybe there just wasn't all that much life in the concept... more

Bloody & violent, uneven art, mediocre stories. If interested in Red Sonja try "Travels," which makes for a better collection of tales. ... more

| | 8. Powers Vol. 8: Legends |
| By: Brian Michael Bendis, Michael Avon Oeming Publisher: Marvel Comics June 01, 2005
What would happen in a world where the use of superpowers is banned? That's what you'll find out in this volume of Powers. Superheros obey the law, but super villains keep on doing what they do best--cause havoc. With the cops out-gunned, there's not much they can do, until a long-dead superhero arrives to save the day. Cops and politicians freak out, but regular citizens see a ray of hope in the... more

| | 9. Powers Vol. 5: Anarchy |
| By: Brian Michael Bendis, Michael Avon Oeming Publisher: Image Comics January 06, 2004
This is a really short Powers volume, as the words 'Kaotic Chic' appear again, seen near a corpse. There is one woman that is really, really, really unhappy about The Powers and what they are allowed to do.
Basically, what you have here is a commentary on the ethics and legality of those individuals operating, and the devastating effects their conflicts can have on those around them... more
