When I wanted to get into judge dredd I went to the internet and the major opinion seemed to be go with volume 4 or 5 the begining stuff is kinda boring I think this is a completely untrue analysis I have no former knowledge of Dredd other than the film and I loved this book granted sometimes dredd seems a bit cheesy but thats one of the only downsides besides inconsistant art which isnt a big deal... more

What can I say? If you're a regular reader of Judge Dredd then this book will come as a major disappointment, as it does nothing more than strip out various 'facts' from the Dredd strips (i.e. removes all the fun bits)... and many of these 'facts' are gleaned not from the comic but from the role playing games, which most 2000AD fans will never have played and couldn't care less about. If you're a new... more

| 4. The Batman/Judge Dredd Files |
|
By: John Wagner, Alan Grant Publisher: DC Comics October 01, 2004
This is one of those inter-company crossover stunts, really. Two granite jawed lawmen with little tolerance for outsiders with strange abilities in their cities, must find a way not to beat the hell out of each other too badly, and eventually work together to stop a threat in Mega-City. Dredd tells Batman at the end of the Gotham based part of the story that it is foreseen he will be needed in Dredd's... more

| 6. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens: Incubus |
|
By: John Wagner, Andy Diggle, Henry Flint Publisher: Dark Horse December 03, 2003
As a long-time fan of the Alien Versus lines, I was rather intrigued to see that the Aliens have branched out of their normal battles with DC superheroes and have made the jump to 2000AD's famous Judge Dredd. Having read the entertaining but mediocre Predator vs. Judge Dredd last year, I had minimal expectations for this comic, but I was very pleasantly surprised.
Perhaps the most noteworthy... more

By: John Wagner, Brian Bolland Publisher: Titan Books (UK) 2004-04
I still have memories of the whole 2000 AD comics scene way back when it first came out when I was barely a tween. I had classmates who bought them religiously every week and sometimes they'd let me read them. I wasn't into the whole Sci-Fi scene in those days although I, myself, had my own hangup as I bought Roy of the Rovers and shared them with my whole class; classmates would regularly ask me... more

| 10. The Best of 2000 AD: Hundreds of Classic Strips From the Galaxy's Greatest Comic |
|
From: Prion Publisher: Prion September 01, 2008
2000 AD was, and remains, largely a UK phenomenon. Nonetheless, the 2000 AD team created some of comicdom's most intriguing characters. Beyond the famous Judge Dredd, you had Rogue Trooper, Strontium Dog, Robo Hunter, M.A.C.H. 1 and Flesh...the list goes on and on.
The Best of 2000 AD essentially undertakes a mammoth but incomplete task: it compiles 22 different series into one 300 plus... more
