Dan Jurgens run on Thor in my opinion , is the best run on the series. better than Simonson on par with Lee and Kirby. nowadays runs on comics last only 6 to 12 issues in most cases. Jurgens run lasted over 70. in this series we see a new human counterpart the death of Odin and eventually thor taking over and ruling earth.
and the build up is very epic. this should be on every comic lovers shelf... more

This book seems to have gotten some mediocre reviews up till now. One thing people need to remember is that this is a TPB collecting issues #9-13 of Thor, but there is alot of context to this story that isn't found in these pages. Reviewers are holding writer Dan Jurgens to a standard of creative precision that this format doesn't permit.
