| 1. Terra |
|
By: Jimmy Palmiotti, JUSTIN GREY Publisher: DC Comics December 15, 2009
Terra is a busty teenaged heroine in an impossibly tight costume who shares a name and powers with an infamous traitor. And like the other two reviewers the best way to sum up her book is 'fun'.
This book reprints her first appearance in Supergirl and then the four-issue miniseries that introduced Terra, her underground civilization, several additional underground civilizations, her... more

| 2. Red Sonja Travels (Red Sonja: She-Devil with a Sword) |
|
By: Roy Thomas, Ron Marz, Jimmy Palmiotti, Rick Remender Publisher: Dynamite Entertainment September 01, 2008
I've been a fan of Dynamite's new Red Sonja series, but admittedly the series has had its ups and downs. This collection of four short stories, however, restored my faith Dynamite's ability to churn out high quality Red Sonja material. Three of the four stories are really well done, expertly illustrated. I found only the third story to be a little weak, in both art and story, but the other three... more

| 4. Battle for Bludhaven (Infinite Crisis Aftermath) |
|
By: Justin Gray Publisher: DC Comics January 03, 2007
Another piece to the Infinite Crisis storyline. It's an entertaining read, though I'd have to say, some time after reading it, it isn't that memorable... more

| 5. Superman Returns:The Prequels (Superman (Graphic Novels)) |
|
By: Jimmy Palmiotti, Justin Gray, Marc Andreyko Publisher: DC Comics October 04, 2006
Other than Adam Hughes artwork, there's nothing spectacular here. Just the lame comic book treatment stories leading up to Superman Returns, a film which was a cataclismic disappointment. I would have liked some better story-telling, but frankly this is just more effort to ruin the main of steel... more

| 7. The Punisher: Very Special Holidays |
|
By: Jimmy Palmiotti, Justin Gray, Andy Diggle Publisher: Marvel Comics December 06, 2006
When it comes to the Punisher, Garth Ennis is about the only modern writer to truly "get" the character and nail him down. That's one reason why none of the one-shots collected in Punisher: Very Special Holidays work. Written by the writing tandem of veteran inker Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray (both of whom did an excellent job on DC's new Jonah Hex series), Very Special Holidays follows Frank... more

| 8. Painkiller Jane: Things Explode TPB (v. 2) |
|
By: Jimmy Palmiotti, Joe Quesada Publisher: Dynamite Entertainment April 16, 2008
Painkiller Jane is such a fun character and this story just makes it so much better. Always one to dive into new situations, this story has Jane trying to take a break from all the hustle and bustle of the city to place her into a laid back situation only to pull her back to the normal grind of being a hero. There are some personal aspects of Jane that get explored in this series (and I won't spoil)... more
