| By: Nancy Holder, Jeff Mariotte, Maryelizabeth Hart Publisher: Simon Spotlight Entertainment June 01, 2002
I have to admit that I was a late bloomer when it came to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (didn't get into the show until the last couple of seasons), but I didn't make that same mistake when Buffy's vampire boyfriend Angel got his own series. I personally love the first two seasons. "Angel: The Case Files volume 1" pretty much covers the first two seasons. Nancy Holden, Maryelizabeth Hart, and Jeff Mariotte... more

| By: Jeff Mariotte, David Messina Publisher: IDW Publishing February 15, 2006
As I wrote in my review of Angel: Old Friends, I'd like to know what happened in the final battle which the series ended on. I think the two part book series was OK (a little too much nose on the characters, though) but they never really explained how the main characters survived - is that too much to ask?... more

First off, "Angel: The Casefiles, Volume 1" is a bit different from the volumes of "The Watcher's Guide" that serve as the Official Companion volumes to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Over 90% of the book is structured around the specific episodes from the first two seasons of "Angel." There is an introductory Character Guide that tries to provide a bit of background on the main characters as well as... more

This centers on the numerous characters from ANGEL. A good idea, and we kick off things with everyone's favorite god-king of the Primordium Illyria. The art is the best comic rendition I've seen of the character yet, and the story is top notch, too. All the stories are good, but my reason for giving it a 4 star rating is because the art in the second installment featuring Gunn just does not do his... more
