| 1. Wetworks, Vol. 2 |
| By: Mike Carey, J.M. DeMatteis Publisher: Wildstorm January 23, 2008
WETWORKS was a 1990s comic book creation of Filipino artist Whilce Portacio. WETWORKS originally centered on the hardcharging exploits of a group of black ops soldiers who become bonded with golden symbiotes. | | 2. Flash Gordon: The Mercy Wars |
| By: Brendan Deneen, Paul Green, J.M. DeMatteis Publisher: Ardden Entertainment March 23, 2010
Ok so I have only scene the 80's movie and some of the B/W serial, so I dont know how true it is to the original.
At first I felt they made Flash Gordon to much of a Renaissance man but 1) They do exist 2) Its a comic
It well written, the art work is like high end animation. Everything is like a pitcher from a movie.
Thats all I'm willing to say... more

Plot SPOILERS now.
So this is what's up: Before Captain Valor was exiled to a parallel dimension - in which that dimension's version of him is a slacker without super powers (as told in Hero Squared Vol. 1) - he was the leader of the superhero team, the Planetary Brigade. Knowing that this is a Giffen & DeMatteis production, it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that the team numbers... more

| By: Michael Fleisher, J. M. DeMatteis, Chris Claremont, Ann Nocenti, Steven Grant Publisher: Marvel Comics August 22, 2007
The second volume of the Essential Spider-Woman concludes the series and if you've already bought the first book then you should absolutely get the second. The artwork continues to look fantastic and I only wish there were more issues to read but this is it. There is a newer series but I prefer this older one and recommend it to fans who like reading 80's comics... more

Super-powered Milo (Captain Valor) to ordinary Milo: "You're -- you're flabby...and foul-mouthed...and...not super! How can you NOT BE SUPER?!?!"
Even after all this time I would say that the team of Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis are probably still mostly known for their great run at JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL (see Justice League International: Volume 1)and its assorted... more
