This is a great product when it worked. It worked very well for a little over a year.
However, after changing the filter, it quit misting.
The other problem was the build up of scum in the mist chamber and below. Changing the filter and cleaning did not seem to help. The instructions state not to use chemicals for cleaning, but the scum is in the sealed areas of the machine. more

- Odorless. No smell of moldy filters or stagnant water.
For the price, I found this to be a very poor choice. It is attractive in it's simplicity-all plastic parts. After a second winter, I have come to the conclusion that it actually achieves next to nothing in terms of humidification. I threw it in the trash yesterday. Enough said. ... more

Venta advertisement makes this unit so attractive, but wait ... they don't tell you what a nightmare you get after a few months of usage. It is simply impossible to clean the rotating disks. These disks get clogged up with bacteria, minerals, dirt and mildew. I spent 2 hours yesterday and still could not clean it well enough. I was so confused by all the information you can get on humidifiers I bought four and tried them all. I also have an AprilAire Central humidifier and spoke to our HVAC company as part of this. Here's the net:
When the humidity is right (40%-60%) it eliminates dry skin and stuffy noses. My dog also quit scratching. Guitar makers recommend it.
