A few quirky, weird, funny and sad (and scary) tales written and illustrated by Dave McKean. About half the book is in color, and the other half in bw and grays. Very good paper, very very good edition all in all. If you read "Cages" you know what you're getting, and even if some of the stories are very simple, the images are so perfect, so beautiful, so amazing (yes, I am a huge fan) that they alone... more

By: Sibylline, Dave McKean Publisher: Eurotica February 04, 2009
These ten stories describe ten different firsts in one woman's sexual life. The first of these firsts was the woman's experience of losing her virginity. Her story takes a charming turn, however. She keeps her virgin status a secret from her partner, afraid (with good reason) that he might do something to break the mood that makes it special for her. She does tell him, though, after they've been together... more

By: Neil Gaiman Publisher: Vertigo September 01, 1991
One of the few Gaiman/McKean works that I haven't read; I was eager to read this graphic novel. It was a pretty good read. It is an unusual comic book and deals with some more serious issues than the basic good vs. evil.
This comic takes place in Gotham City and in the first few scenes we get to watch as the super-hero Black Orchid is captured and killed. The rest of the story follows... more

By: Dave McKean By: Dave McKean Publisher: Dark Horse July 29, 2009
This is possibly the most beautifully rendered graphic novel (if something of these dimensions can be called a novel) ever. Dave McKean is best known for doing the cover art for all 75 issues of Neil Gaiman's landmark Sandman comics series, and as the director of the independent film Mirrormask. Not all of his fans may know about McKean's solo comics work. Cages, his magnum opus, was originally... more

By: Neil Gaiman Publisher: HarperCollins July 26, 2005
This is the first book I ever read by Neil Gaiman. I found it in the remainder section of a book store. It is wonderful! The story is about a girl who worries about what would happen if the wolves came out of the walls. Her family is irritated by her questions and answer by stating, that if the wolves come out of the walls then its all over. Well, one night the wolves do come out of the walls... more
