This is my second graphic novel--and it was just as excellent as my first. Don't let the thick book scare you..it is truly awesome. I bet I read the last half of the book in 4 hours. I have found all the other books that Craig has written and they are awesome. I had thought he was going to be writing a follow up to this one but so far he hasn't. The book is under the classification of graphic novel..and... more

By: Craig Thompson Publisher: Pantheon May 09, 2006
I loved this book. I ,like many others, read Blankets first and fell in love with it. So I was very excited to read this. I was captivated the whole time. Its a great story. I was really looking forward to where it was going. But as I started nearing the last 2 or 3 pages I started to realize that there are not enough pages to wrap things up. And before I knew it It ended. It really does feel like... more

| 4. Dark Horse Deluxe Journal: Craig Thompson's Angels and Demons |
|
By: Craig Thompson Publisher: Dark Horse December 25, 2003
As the other reviewers say, I was surprised to see that this is just a blank journal. I had thought it would showcase some of the author's journal, with drawings and comments. So I was pretty disappointed. However, DO buy his books, especially "Blankets" and "Carnet du Voyage". They're amazing... more

| 8. Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic |
|
By: Alison Bechdel Publisher: Mariner Books June 05, 2007
This was very good. It's a graphic novel that weaves several stories together. One of the main two stories is about Bechdel's father who was a very interesting man -- accomplished renovator and decorator of old houses, director of the family-run funeral home, teacher, lover of younger men. Yet, he presented himself to the world as straight straight straight. The second thread is about Bechdel growing... more

By: Lucy Knisley Publisher: Touchstone October 14, 2008
In late December 2006, Lucy, the narrator and artist of this thoroughly engaging graphic journal, traveled from the family home in Rhinebeck, New York, to Paris for six weeks in company with her mother in celebration of her mother's 50th birthday (and her own 22nd). Lucy herself had been attending the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago for four years and seems now to be a permanent... more
