| 1. Schulz and Peanuts: A Biography |
|
By: David Michaelis Publisher: Harper Perennial October 07, 2008
Charles "Sparky" Shultz always wanted to be a cartoonist, and he drew the Peanuts comic strip for nearly 50 years, turning it into a marketing bonanza and its characters into cultural icons. But for all the happiness he brought to so many, he was himself a rather unhappy person. Raised in Minnesota, the only child of German and Norwegian parents who weren't particularly affectionate, he grew up very... more

| 2. Peanuts: The Art of Charles M. Schulz |
|
By: Charles M. Schulz Publisher: Pantheon October 28, 2003
I love the format of this book and the look. None of the newsprint paper look or imperfections were edited out. It is pages and pages of art and strips as they appear in family scrapbooks. You even see the yellowed tape holding them in.
This is the perfect companion to the Fantagraphics collection because of the pre-Peanuts material and the strips in color -neither of which the aforementioned... more

| 6. Peanuts 2000: The 50th Year Of The World's Favorite Comic Strip |
|
By: Charles M. Schulz Publisher: Ballantine Books September 05, 2000
This is it the last year of Peanuts. I wish the comic strip was still going but it isn't and never will again. The last years were not my all time favorites but I still enjoy reading them. This review was made the day the comic strip began on 10/2/50. Peanuts how can you ever forget them. I have to close this now and go cry that Peanuts will never come back.
Good book to get by... more
