| 1. Welcome To Hoxford |
|
By: Ben Templesmith Publisher: Idea & Design Works Llc March 01, 2009
Wish I could have read books and books on these characters! They are soo 'colorful', disturbed, and ?kinda? layered. The story was a little slapped together; as I said, they should have dragged the characters (including "Hoxford") into a few books, but as fast as it ran through it had all the sick little bits one comes to love from Mr.Templesmith. And I have to say that the "Bad Guys"[aka avoiding... more

By: Ben Templesmith By: Ben Templesmith Publisher: IDW Publishing February 09, 2005
Ben Templesmith has done it again, presenting us with visions of nightmares and violence that insidiously place themselves over our subconscious fears, but in a fun way. Terrifying, but funny. I can see here the beginnings of Wormwood. ... more

By: Bram Stoker, Ben Templesmith Publisher: IDW Publishing June 03, 2009
Well there is nothing new for me to add for this item. the name speaks for itself :D
but there is something that i want to add regarding the info about this item. This is not a Graphical/Illustrated retelling of the novel. but a resolitication with a couple pinup style illustrations scattered in between pages.
my only dissapoinment was this. I expected an illustrated... more

| 4. Groom Lake |
|
By: Chris Ryall, Ben Templesmith Publisher: IDW Publishing October 28, 2009
This goofy novel gives an entirely new treatment to the little gray men from outer space.
The wide-ranging, fast-paced story touches on conspiracies, invasions, awkward penetrations and the media perception of the wacky fellows. The hillbilly protagonist and his Federal/spook lady counterpart are pretty lackluster, but the real star is the chain-smoking, fun-seeking alien, Archibald... more

| 7. Wormwood Volume 1 (v. 1) |
|
By: Ben Templesmith By: Ben Templesmith Publisher: IDW Publishing March 28, 2007
Upon first look this seems to be a very odd selection. But Ben Templesmith makes this world very unique. If you are a fan of great artwork and macabre humor then Wormwood is a great place to start. The only negative is that the story itself is short in nature. But what it lacks in length, Wormwood provides the reader with a fluid and hysterical entrance into the mind of Ben Templesmith. If you have... more

|
By: Warren Ellis Publisher: Image Comics June 06, 2007
I wanted to like this - I really did. I enjoy other titles by the contributors (Ellis, Templesmith), but found this to be a lackluster effort.
In brief - Richard Fell is one of a handful of detectives working in Snowtown, apparently the most run-down city in America. Crime is rampant, and accepted, and citizens have resorted to superstition to protect themselves by spray-painting wards... more

By: Ben Templesmith By: Ben Templesmith Publisher: IDW Publishing March 29, 2008
Sadly, most people won't realize how much of this comic book is derived from other forms of popular culture. The characters look so similar to the ones in "A Nightmare Before Christmas" that one has to wonder how long it will be before he'll need a good lawyer. The mythology in the book was covered by Neil Gaiman in his Sandman series especially, and his work was much better than Templesmith's. more
